Genesis 4:1-9 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC)
1 And Adam knew Eve as his wife, and she became pregnant and bore Cain; and she said, I have gotten and gained a man with the help of the Lord.
2 And [next] she gave birth to his brother Abel. Now Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.
3 And in the course of time Cain brought to the Lord an offering of the fruit of the ground.
4 And Abel brought of the firstborn of his flock and of the fat portions. And the Lord had respect and regard for Abel and for his offering,
5 But for [a]Cain and his offering He had no respect or regard. So Cain was exceedingly angry and indignant, and he looked sad and depressed.
6 And the Lord said to Cain, Why are you angry? And why do you look sad and depressed and dejected?
7 If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin crouches at your door; its desire is for you, but you must master it.
8 And Cain said to his brother, [b]Let us go out to the field. And when they were in the field, Cain rose up against Abel his brother and killed him.
9 And the Lord said to Cain, Where is Abel your brother? And he said, I do not know. Am I my brother’s keeper?
By divine revelation, Abel offered a sacrifice.
The tree of the knowledge of God and Evil was a kind of first fruit that Adam and Eve had separated unto the Lord. In this very vein, did Abel offer his first fruit.
Proverbs 3:9 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC)
9 Honor the Lord with your capital and sufficiency [from righteous labors] and with the firstfruits of all your income;
Faith is surprising God. As it was the case with the Centurion. It surprised the Lord Jesus Christ for the kind of faith he had. It is the same kind of faith the Samaritan woman had saying even dogs eat from the crumbs of the table. Jesus was surprised.
Faith is the place of comfortable uncomfortability.
The glory of a boy is to became a man because he has acquired all it takes to achieve purpose.
When Cain was born, Eve prophesied over Him, Cain means a Possession and also Spear. When Abel was born, His mother didn't prophesy over Him.
Abel didn't have any learned knowledge of offering firstborns and their fat portions. He could only have learned that through faith.
God plants wisdom in the spirit, faith allows you to access it.
Abel accessed wisdom through faith.
Proverbs 21:27 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC)
27 The sacrifice of the wicked is exceedingly disgusting and abhorrent [to the Lord]—how much more when he brings it with evil intention?
At the fall, man sought glory for himself from a posture of competition. The result of it is anger, indignation, sadness and depression.
Matthew 4:8 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC)
8 Again, the devil took Him up on a very high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and the glory (the splendor, magnificence, pre-eminence, and excellence) of them.
Human glory is the result of being considered better, faster, more beautiful than others.
After the fall, human beings started pursuing glory for themselves. Glory conferred by human beings is based on being considered better than others.
God had rejected Cain's sacrifice even before Cain had sinned. God is interested in the heart position more than the actions we do outwardly.
Sinful nature is always fueled by wrong and misguided heart position.
The devil will tempt us on the axis of self-comparison on earthly glory against the backdrop of heavenly glory.
Competition is the heart's desire to attain to human glory. Man was made for dominion, this is what we all attain for.
When God cursed man in the garden , He cursed his glory.
1 Peter 1:24 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC)
24 For all flesh (mankind) is like grass, and all its glory (honor) like [the] flower of grass. The grass withers and the flower drops off,
Psalm 49:12 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC)
12 But man, with all his honor and pomp, does not remain; he is like the beasts that perish.
Human glory is temporal.
Genesis 1:26 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC)
26 God said, Let Us [Father, Son, and Holy Spirit] make mankind in Our image, after Our likeness, and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the [tame] beasts, and over all of the earth, and over everything that creeps upon the earth.
Colossians 1:15-18 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC)
15 [Now] He is the [a]exact likeness of the unseen God [the visible representation of the invisible]; He is the Firstborn of all creation.
16 For it was in Him that all things were created, in heaven and on earth, things seen and things unseen, whether thrones, dominions, rulers, or authorities; all things were created and exist through Him [by His service, intervention] and in and for Him.
17 And He Himself existed before all things, and in Him all things consist (cohere, are held together).
18 He also is the Head of [His] body, the church; seeing He is the Beginning, the Firstborn from among the dead, so that He alone in everything and in every respect might occupy the chief place [stand first and be preeminent].
God's glory has all that we strive for.
When God created man in His image, He put the glory that was resident in Himself in man so that man can manifest it on the face of the earth.
God's glory is associated with abundance, favor and wealth. The same as with human glory. The difference between God's glory and human glory is that God's glory comes from being in favor with God and man.
God's glory in your life will cause things to come to you.
Revelation 5:12 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC)
12 Saying in a loud voice, Deserving is the Lamb, Who was sacrificed, to receive all the power and riches and wisdom and might and honor and majesty (glory, splendor) and blessing!
Acts 22:11 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC)
11 And since I could not see because [of the dazzlingly glorious intensity] of the brightness of that light, I was led by the hand by those who were with me, and [thus] I arrived in Damascus.
2 Corinthians 3:7-18 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC)
7 Now if the dispensation of death engraved in letters on stone [the ministration of the Law], was inaugurated with such glory and splendor that the Israelites were not able to look steadily at the face of Moses because of its brilliance, [a glory] that was to fade and pass away,
8 Why should not the dispensation of the Spirit [this spiritual [a]ministry whose task it is to cause men to obtain and be governed by the Holy Spirit] be attended with much greater and more splendid glory?
9 For if the service that condemns [the ministration of doom] had glory, how infinitely more abounding in splendor and glory must be the service that makes righteous [the ministry that produces and fosters righteous living and right standing with God]!
10 Indeed, in view of this fact, what once had splendor [[b]the glory of the Law in the face of Moses] has come to have no splendor at all, because of the overwhelming glory that exceeds and excels it [[c]the glory of the Gospel in the face of Jesus Christ].
11 For if that which was but passing and fading away came with splendor, how much more must that which remains and is permanent abide in glory and splendor!
12 Since we have such [glorious] hope (such joyful and confident expectation), we speak very freely and openly and fearlessly.
13 Nor [do we act] like Moses, who put a veil over his face so that the Israelites might not gaze upon the finish of the vanishing [splendor which had been upon it].
14 In fact, their minds were grown hard and calloused [they had become dull and had lost the power of understanding]; for until this present day, when the Old Testament (the old covenant) is being read, that same veil still lies [on their hearts], not being lifted [to reveal] that in Christ it is made void and done away.
15 Yes, down to this [very] day whenever Moses is read, a veil lies upon their minds and hearts.
16 But whenever a person turns [in repentance] to the Lord, the veil is stripped off and taken away.
17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty (emancipation from bondage, freedom).
18 And all of us, as with unveiled face, [because we] continued to behold [in the Word of God] as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are constantly being transfigured into His very own image in ever increasing splendor and from one degree of glory to another; [for this comes] from the Lord [Who is] the Spirit.
When we partake the law without the spirit, we give sin power over our lives. When we partake the grace of God through the spirit in relationship with Christ, we are given power to overcome sin.
The radiance of Christ is what transforms us.
In Christ we partake of life eternal. #SELAH
Isaiah 60:1 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC)
60 Arise [from the depression and prostration in which circumstances have kept you—rise to a new life]! Shine (be radiant with the glory of the Lord), for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you!
When the glory of the Lord is upon you, you radiate His light and your glory is restored.
God's glory is that of a pure mind and heart.
The Holy Spirit is the seal of GLORY over our lives.
Genesis 49:6 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC)
6 O my soul, come not into their secret council; unto their assembly let not my honor be united [for I knew nothing of their plot], because in their anger they slew men [an honored man, Shechem, and the Shechemites], and in their self-will they disabled oxen.
We hedge and protect the glory of God by avoiding bad company.
When you store up your treasure in heaven, you are able to reign on earth as a son.
The kingship that God expects from us is the kingship of servanthood.
Glory in Christ comes in humility. Moses face was radiant but he was as per God's record a humble man a friend of God to whom the Lord spoke face to face.
Hebrews 2:10-11 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC)
10 For it was an act worthy [of God] and fitting [to the divine nature] that He, for Whose sake and by Whom all things have their existence, in bringing many sons into glory, should make the Pioneer of their salvation perfect [should bring to maturity the human experience necessary to be perfectly equipped for His office as High Priest] through suffering.
11 For both He Who sanctifies [making men holy] and those who are sanctified all have one [Father]. For this reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren;
Jesus made Himself low so that we can attain to glory. We live out the example of Christ so that we can attain to the glory Christ attained.
Romans 2:7 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC)
7 To those who by patient persistence in well-doing [[a]springing from piety] seek [unseen but sure] glory and honor and [[b]the eternal blessedness of] immortality, He will give eternal life.
Romans 2:10 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC)
10 But glory and honor and [heart] peace shall be awarded to everyone who [habitually] does good, the Jew first and also the Greek (Gentile).
Romans 8:18-21 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC)
18 [But what of that?] For I consider that the sufferings of this present time (this present life) are not worth being compared with the glory that is about to be revealed to us and in us and [a]for us and [b]conferred on us!
19 For [even the whole] creation (all nature) waits expectantly and longs earnestly for God’s sons to be made known [waits for the revealing, the disclosing of their sonship].
20 For the creation (nature) was subjected to [c]frailty (to futility, condemned to frustration), not because of some intentional fault on its part, but by the will of Him Who so subjected it—[yet] with the hope
21 That nature (creation) itself will be set free from its bondage to decay and corruption [and gain an entrance] into the glorious freedom of God’s children.
Our dominion will result in the restoration of the glory of the Earth.
1 Peter 5:10 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC)
10 And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace [Who imparts all blessing and favor], Who has called you to His [own] eternal glory in Christ Jesus, will Himself complete and make you what you ought to be, establish and ground you securely, and strengthen, and settle you.
Temporary suffering is the access to glory.
The glory of God is the demonstration of divine wisdom that installs the weight of element of His nature and character.
The purpose of the manifest divine glory is to displace the fallen perspectives and scopes of mankind.
1 Corinthians 15:53-54 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC)
53 For this perishable [part of us] must put on the imperishable [nature], and this mortal [part of us, this nature that is capable of dying] must put on immortality (freedom from death).
54 And when this perishable puts on the imperishable and this that was capable of dying puts on freedom from death, then shall be fulfilled the Scripture that says, Death is swallowed up (utterly vanquished [a]forever) in and unto victory.
Sacrifice and constant pursuit of God is our assignment now as we seek glory.
Genesis 4:9 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC)
9 And the Lord said to Cain, Where is Abel your brother? And he said, I do not know. Am I my brother’s keeper?
Abel's blood spoke vengeance. Jesus blood spoke mercy and grace.
Joshua 7:19 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC)
19 And Joshua said to Achan, My son, give glory to the Lord, the God of Israel, and make confession to Him. And tell me now what you have done; do not hide it from me.
Repentance is giving God all the glory.
If all we have prayed and hoped for does not come or get awarded us would we still give God thanks and sacrifice continually? #SELAH
The new Jerusalem has no sun because the Son is the light.
John 9:24-25 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC)
24 So the second time they summoned the man who had been born blind, and said to him, Now give God the glory (praise). This [a]Fellow we know is only a sinner (a wicked person).
25 Then he answered, I do not know whether He is a sinner and wicked or not. But one thing I do know, that whereas I was blind before, now I see.
The glory of God is light. We are children of light.
The glory of God is light in our minds, hearts and bodies. The light of God causes us to live bare and honestly with others. It takes away everything that causes shame and gives us boldness.
Matthew 5:16 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC)
16 Let your light so shine before men that they may see your [a]moral excellence and your praiseworthy, noble, and good deeds and [b]recognize and honor and praise and glorify your Father Who is in heaven.
