The Mystery Of Sex – Part 3: Sermon By Apostle Gobanga

Consecrate yourselves therefore, and be holy, for I am the Lord your God. And you shall keep My statutes, and perform them: I am the Lord who sanctifies you. ‘For everyone who curses his father or his mother shall surely be put to death. He has cursed his father or his mother. His blood shall be upon him. ‘The man who commits adultery with another man’s wife, he who commits adultery with his neighbor’s wife, the adulterer and the adulteress, shall surely be put to death. The man who lies with his father’s wife has uncovered his father’s nakedness; both of them shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them. If a man lies with his daughter-in-law, both of them shall surely be put to death. They have committed perversion. Their blood shall be upon them. If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them. If a man marries a woman and her mother, it is wickedness. They shall be burned with fire, both he and they, that there may be no wickedness among you. If a man mates with an animal, he shall surely be put to death, and you shall kill the animal. If a woman approaches any animal and mates with it, you shall kill the woman and the animal. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood is upon them.

‘If a man takes his sister, his father’s daughter or his mother’s daughter, and sees her nakedness and she sees his nakedness, it is a wicked thing. And they shall be cut off in the sight of their people. He has uncovered his sister’s nakedness. He shall bear his guilt. If a man lies with a woman during her sickness and uncovers her nakedness, he has exposed her flow, and she has uncovered the flow of her blood. Both of them shall be cut off from their people. ‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your mother’s sister nor of your father’s sister, for that would uncover his near of kin. They shall bear their guilt. If a man lies with his uncle’s wife, he has uncovered his uncle’s nakedness. They shall bear their sin; they shall die childless. If a man takes his brother’s wife, it is an unclean thing. He has uncovered his brother’s nakedness. They shall be childless. ‘You shall therefore keep all My statutes and all My judgments, and perform them, that the land where I am bringing you to dwell may not vomit you out. And you shall not walk in the statutes of the nation which I am casting out before you; for they commit all these things, and therefore I abhor them. But I have said to you, “You shall inherit their land, and I will give it to you to possess, a land flowing with milk and honey.” I am the Lord your God, who has separated you from the peoples.

Leviticus 20:7-24 (NKJV)

Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, “Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘I am the Lord your God. According to the doings of the land of Egypt, where you dwelt, you shall not do; and according to the doings of the land of Canaan, where I am bringing you, you shall not do; nor shall you walk in their ordinances. You shall observe My judgments and keep My ordinances, to walk in them: I am the Lord your God. You shall therefore keep My statutes and My judgments, which if a man does, he shall live by them: I am the Lord. ‘None of you shall approach anyone who is near of kin to him, to uncover his nakedness: I am the Lord. The nakedness of your father or the nakedness of your mother you shall not uncover. She is your mother; you shall not uncover her nakedness. The nakedness of your father’s wife you shall not uncover; it is your father’s nakedness. The nakedness of your sister, the daughter of your father, or the daughter of your mother, whether born at home or elsewhere, their nakedness you shall not uncover. The nakedness of your son’s daughter or your daughter’s daughter, their nakedness you shall not uncover; for theirs is your own nakedness. The nakedness of your father’s wife’s daughter, begotten by your father—she is your sister—you shall not uncover her nakedness. You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father’s sister; she is near of kin to your father. You shall not uncover the nakedness of your mother’s sister, for she is near of kin to your mother. You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father’s brother. You shall not approach his wife; she is your aunt. You shall not uncover the nakedness of your daughter-in-law—she is your son’s wife—you shall not uncover her nakedness. You shall not uncover the nakedness of your brother’s wife; it is your brother’s nakedness. You shall not uncover the nakedness of a woman and her daughter, nor shall you take her son’s daughter or her daughter’s daughter, to uncover her nakedness. They are near of kin to her. It is wickedness. Nor shall you take a woman as a rival to her sister, to uncover her nakedness while the other is alive. ‘Also you shall not approach a woman to uncover her nakedness as long as she is in her customary impurity. Moreover you shall not lie carnally with your neighbour’s wife, to defile yourself with her. And you shall not let any of your descendants pass through the fire to Molech, nor shall you profane the name of your God: I am the Lord. You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination. Nor shall you mate with any animal, to defile yourself with it. Nor shall any woman stand before an animal to mate with it. It is perversion.

‘Do not defile yourselves with any of these things; for by all these the nations are defiled, which I am casting out before you. For the land is defiled; therefore I visit the punishment of its iniquity upon it, and the land vomits out its inhabitants. You shall therefore keep My statutes and My judgments, and shall not commit any of these abominations, either any of your own nation or any stranger who dwells among you (for all these abominations the men of the land have done, who were before you, and thus the land is defiled), lest the land vomit you out also when you defile it, as it vomited out the nations that were before you. For whoever commits any of these abominations, the persons who commit them shall be cut off from among their people. ‘Therefore you shall keep My ordinance, so that you do not commit any of these abominable customs which were committed before you, and that you do not defile yourselves by them: I am the Lord your God.’ ”

Leviticus 18:1-30 (NKJV)

Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.

All things are lawful for me, but all things are not helpful. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any. Foods for the stomach and the stomach for foods, but God will destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for sexual immorality but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. And God both raised up the Lord and will also raise us up by His power. Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a harlot? Certainly not! Or do you not know that he who is joined to a harlot is one body with her? For “the two,” He says, “shall become one flesh.” But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him. Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

1 Corinthians 6:9-20 (NKJV)

Finally then, brethren, we urge and exhort in the Lord Jesus that you should abound more and more, just as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God; for you know what commandments we gave you through the Lord Jesus. For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality; that each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in passion of lust, like the Gentiles who do not know God; that no one should take advantage of and defraud his brother in this matter, because the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also forewarned you and testified. For God did not call us to uncleanness, but in holiness. Therefore he who rejects this does not reject man, but God, who has also given us His Holy Spirit.

1 Thessalonians 4:1-8 (NKJV)

But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is fitting for saints; neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks. For this you know, that no fornicator, unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. Therefore do not be partakers with them.

Ephesians 5:3-7 (NKJV)

Personality denotes the sum total of an individual’s essential attributes of behavioural, temperamental traits, emotional and mental capacities.

Sexual communion entails the personality of both man and woman engaging together the same way man communes with the personality being of the Divine via fellowship and worship.

The mind gets to know the revelation of essential truth from God about sex before the man is able to function sexually. You cannot be effectual during sexual intercourse in marriage unless you have the revelation of the truth about sex from God.

Divine truth is the basis by which man is able to manifest his love for God, with which he can apply in relating to fellow man. Love cannot be expressed void of truth, for truth is the foundation of love, while love is the expression of divine truth.

Love is vested in the truth and is what proceeds from the truth. Truth is the precedence of love. Love is the splendour of truth. Love is only attracted to that which is truth; sex is an expression of love that springs forth from divine revelation of truth concerning sex.

Love can only manifest itself where reality is. Love is defined by truth. Love proceeds from truth, because it’s the truth that enables love to connect man with the Divine. Love is also the manifest expression of revealed truth.

In the context of sex, the truth is what should draw man and woman to each other via love not emotions. Truth is what will afford emotions to find expression of love.

Love doesn’t originate from emotions. Just because you are emotional doesn’t mean that you truly love, for love only expresses itself through emotions. The genesis of love is truth.

Sexual Perversion

Perversion is any deviation from divine requisite by reason of a demeanour or perception. Deviation from divine requisite leads to the gross abuse of divinely inherent capacity bestowed upon man by God. It is motivated by lust to render one to debasement.

Sexual perversion is a state where a person’s sexual demeanour deviates from what is divinely ordained as the acceptable use of sex. Sexual perversion is deliberate change of the inherent purpose and the function of sex as divinely ordained.

To every purpose, there is a specific grace to correspond with a given function. When the purpose changes, the grace for function is rendered disabled, for every purpose has a specific grace to function.

When sexual perversion creeps in, the purpose for sex is nullified, and instead substituted by the expedience of perversion, which incapacitates the grace to function, for the grace cannot proceed from the purpose of sexual perversion; neither can it propel the function. Grace cannot proceed from another purpose except its preceding purpose.

Sexual perversion is the practice of sophistry, where you change the meaning of or be vague about sex in order to mislead or deceive. In other words, you deliberately dare to distort the authentic understanding of sex, misleading by means of specious fallacies. It is the unrestrained sexual misdemeanour where one engages in unwarranted sexual intercourse. It is appealing to bizarre or deviant tastes, void of moral scruples (reprobate).

Examples of sexual perversion include: fornication, making out, debauchery, orgy, adultery, oral sex, masturbation, sleeping around, pornographic appetite, etc.

Sexual perversion is idolatry. Idolatry is devotion to the doctrine or a cult or to the practices of a cult, where you have an interest followed with exaggerated zeal for a lifestyle/belief/ideology, etc. Sexual perversion is idolatry because the culture therein perpetuates a lifestyle, perception, or persuasion for a way of life that contravenes biblical requisites. Now, it must be clear that sexual perversion is not necessarily what society/community/segment of people considers unacceptable, but what the Lord detests as revealed in His word.

Behind every idol there is a spirit from the underworld. The more you embrace something other than God, the more you connect to the spirit behind it. Hence, you literally submit to the spirit behind what you love most. People who love to indulge in sexual perversion actually embrace the spirit of immorality, granting the demons permission to pervade their lives at will.

Divine law is supreme above cultural norms, societal modes of existence/practices, philosophy, ideology, and any other kind of persuasion that is short of biblical rudiments.

Sexual perversion is the perpetuation of deception, for it is counterfeit to the authentic pattern ordained by the Lord, and it subverts divine purpose. It is not in accordance to divine truth. Hence, the pervert cannot appropriate its intent, for based on his/her darkened mind, he/she is short of capacity to love, thereby all he/she does amount to deadened works.

1 Corinthians 6:13 – People tend to justify their sinful lifestyle by the notion that just as food is gratifying and essential for life, sex too is essentially needful to gratify the body. They delude themselves that any physical activity shouldn’t affect one’s spirituality, just as digesting food doesn’t affect one’s spiritual life. There are those who believe that the stomach and the digestive process are in a sense no more than earthly and void of function in eternity.

Sex is not a function of the human body. Neither was the human body created for sex. The body was created for the Lord. While the stomach’s purpose is to digest food, it is not the purpose of the body to commit immorality. Furthermore by design, God put restrictions on both eating and sexual activity. Sexual immorality amongst believers is sacrilegious, for it violates the spiritual union the individual believer has with Christ. Immorality drags the union with Christ into illicit relationship.

1 Corinthians 6:15-16 – Sex unites the man and woman to become one flesh; your entire soul is tied to your sexual partner via the discharge of bodily fluids, which are a type of sacrifice/offering unto satanic forces. This implies that the immoral couple partake of each other’s essentially spiritual and emotional nature. It involves transfer between both parties, where good and bad transmits from one to the other of both. In essence, you’ve made yourself one flesh with that person.

It is even worse when you sleep with multiple partners because you fragment your soul into pieces such that you fall short of wholeness both in the areas of your spiritual man, mental and emotional to the point that your will becomes subject to the dominion of sexual perversion. Soul ties can impede an individual’s progress in life. Sex binds one into a covenant with another such that it becomes impossible to forge ahead in pursuit of divine purpose. Sexual perversion opens one’s life to demonic activity, where demons dispense spiritual attacks, such that instead of becoming the temple of God you become the temple of demons.

Your sexual organs serve as a door through which the demonic world pervades leading to demonic possession by all kind of evil spirits. Just as bacteria invade dirty places, demons enter your life once you condone a perverse lifestyle because sexual perversion is a dirty lifestyle. Once demons enter, they master the spiritual environment within your life and then they bring in as many other wicked demons as possible. The presence of demonic activity is reflected in diverse ways: strange sickness, confusion, mistakes, errors, etc.

The spirit of immorality reigns roughshod in the pervert’s life, whereby it maintains a stranglehold over every decision you make. It enslaves the pervert to embrace nothing short of moral decadence. 

1 Corinthians 6:18-20 – Sexual perversion is a violation against one’s own body, which is also the Lord’s. In other words, sexual immorality renders your body to malfunction, where you fall short of essential capacity to serve the purpose for which the body was created for. A malfunctioned body, due to the abuse of sex renders the various components to degeneration.

Jesus bought us with a price, and therefore through the Holy Spirit He indwells us. Thus, He expects that we individually glorify Him through our bodies/spirits. Sexual immorality destroys relationship both between the man and woman involved as well as their capacity to relate freely with the rest of the brethren in the body of Christ. It hinders the move of God/presence of God in a fellowship/Church setting. Sex is like a contagious disease which spreads very fast within a Church.

It makes it impossible for the perverts to freely relate with God at personal level due to guilt, condemnation, and in its most extreme manifestation it alienates the perverts from the entire fellowship. Sexual perversion defiles the land, which denotes the place of your productivity/functionality.

Sexual perversion ruins your chances of success, because it carries a curse that renders the land to barrenness. Your life is short of fruitfulness in every sector, because first of your entire mind cannot receive truth that liberates you from curses/failure.

Pre-marital sex among the youth arrests their psychological, social and academic progress.

Your heart/emotional capacity is incapacitated to embrace truth, for all it loves is perversion, which is unable to yield success. All you live for is nothing but vanity, on the sole basis of the darkened mind, degraded heart and deadened will, thereby rendering man to a malfunctioned entity.

Sexual perversion renders an individual to fall short of fulfillment in every area of life, for you digress from vision that leads towards purpose.

Sexual perversion makes you to bring divine judgment upon yourself. Just because there hasn’t been any seemingly repercussion by reason of regular non-marital sex does not mean that judgment won’t come.

Though they join forces, the wicked will not go unpunished; but the posterity of the righteous will be delivered.

Proverbs 11:21 (NKJV)

Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.

Galatians 6:7-8 (NKJV)

Be not deceived at all, for Proverbs 11:21/Galatians 6:7-8 talks about the fact that wickedness shall be punished no matter what. Wickedness is like a seed that God will punish unlike righteousness which brings forth deliverance/eternal life.

Sexual perversion amounts to one trading his/her self-respect, for your sexual partner will view you as cheap. You lose the trust they have for you. Thus, by engaging in premarital sex, you simply add to his/her list of those he/she has slept with.

Abstinence from sexual perversion guards you from a darkened conscience where you won’t have to suffer constant regret/pain, even in the event that both of you break up.

Sexual perversion makes people fall short of enjoyment of sex within marital union because each time you have to hide for fear of being caught, fear of contracting disease, etc. Then there is the trauma after where you are guilty and condemned, making you shy away from people in Church.

Sexual perversion prevents your prayers from being answered, for prayers of a sinner are an abomination to God. Thus, your prayers cannot be answered by God unless you pray a genuine repentant prayer.

Sexual perversion especially before marriage renders your soul to disconnect from divine network, and get attached to the soul network of your partner, whereby confusion enters to scatter your soul into pieces. You aren’t able to make sober decisions. Hence, people of such caliber tend to be destructive in everything.

Perversion in your sexuality renders you to go off the rails in vital issues in life, where you are fruitless since the Lord is alien over the affairs of your life once you lose control over your sexual urges. In other words, you are void of spiritual compass.

Sexual perversion renders one’s reasoning to be carnal rather than spiritual, where you are desolate of divine revelation especially on how to survive perilous times/seasons, to be led of the Holy Ghost out of scenes of destruction.

The desires of the carnal man get strengthened due to sexual perversion such that corruption distorts one’s personality and character. The soul becomes gullible and more easily deceived. Spiritual perception is lost and the soul is left in darkness and confusion.

You shall not bow down to them nor  serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me.

Exodus 20:5 (NKJV)

Exodus 20:5 – Sexual perversion initiates a possible generational problem/curses, which will extent to your offspring.

And it happened, when Israel dwelt in that land, that Reuben went and lay with Bilhah his father’s concubine; and Israel heard about it.

Genesis 35:22 (NKJV)

Reuben, you are my firstborn, my might and the beginning of my strength, the excellency of dignity and the excellency of power. Unstable as water, you shall not excel, because you went up to your father’s bed. Then you defiled it – he went up to my couch.

Genesis 49:3-4 (NKJV)

Reuben received a curse from his father Jacob because of sleeping with his father’s wife.

Judah slept with his daughter in-law in Genesis 38, while his descendant David committed adultery and murder.

Now these are all descendants of Abraham, who too succumbed when he slept with his wife’s maid in Genesis 16, bringing forth Ishmael, the father of the Arabic nation, the bitter enemy of the Jews to date.

Loss of virginity during sexual perversion covenants you to your partner because blood is shed before God and is used to seal covenants.

A blood covenant binds the perverse couple together whereby it lays a foundation for both upon which vulnerability to spirits, curses, etc grip upon your life.
