The Seven Spirits Of God: Sermon By Apostle Gobanga

And to the angel (messenger) of the assembly (church) in Sardis write: These are the words of Him Who has the seven Spirits of God [the sevenfold Holy Spirit] and the seven stars: I know your record and what you are doing; you are supposed to be alive, but [in reality] you are dead.

Revelation 3:1 (AMPC)

From the throne came flashes of lightning and [rumbling] sounds and peals of thunder. Seven lamps of fire were burning in front of the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God.

Revelation 4:5 (AMP)

And there between the throne and the four living creatures (beings) and among the elders [of the heavenly Sanhedrin] I saw a Lamb standing, as though it had been slain, with seven horns and with seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God [the sevenfold Holy Spirit] Who have been sent [on duty far and wide] into all the earth.

Revelation 5:6 (AMPC)

And there shall come forth a Shoot out of the stock of Jesse [David’s father], and a Branch out of his roots shall grow and bear fruit. And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him—the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and of the reverential and obedient fear of the Lord.

And He will delight in the fear of the Lord, and He will not judge by what His eyes see, nor make decisions by what His ears hear. But with righteousness and justice He will judge the poor, and decide with fairness for the downtrodden of the earth; and He shall strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, and with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked. And righteousness will be the belt around His loins, and faithfulness the belt around His waist.

Isaiah 11:1-5 (AMPC)

The Bible is full of imagery and symbolism one of which is numbers.

The number eight denotes new beginnings. Number seven denotes divine perfection and completion, divine fullness and totality of revolutions and cycles. It also denotes preparatory incubation and consecration that is preparation and process. Seven also serves to denote a standard spiritual preparation and impartation that is complete.

The seven Spirits of God signify the perfect and complete Holy Spirit and denotes the character of God. He is complete and immutable. The seven-fold Spirit of God represents a complete manifestation of His revelation and illumination.

Illumination enlightens that which is revealed. The Holy Spirit helps us get enlightened in revelation.

Jesus has the full measure of the Holy Spirit. The Church was ordained to be the embodiment of the perfect Spirit of God.

For since He Whom God has sent speaks the words of God [proclaims God’s own message], God does not give Him His Spirit sparingly or by measure, but boundless is the gift God makes of His Spirit!

John 3:34 (AMPC)

The seven Spirits of God signifies the independent manifestations of the Holy Spirit that compliments each other.

The first facet is the person of the Spirit of God. A person will not be able to touch base with the other facets of the Spirit of God if one is not acquainted with this one. Without the Holy Spirit, you cannot know Christ. Without Christ, you cannot know the Father.

The second and third facet is the Spirit of wisdom and understanding. These enable us to grasp that which is revealed to you. Wisdom is application of what is revealed.

The fourth, fifth and sixth facets are the Spirit of counsel, might and knowledge. These denote the character ability and capacity of God.

He strengthens you in the inner-man and does beyond what you think or imagine.

Now to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams].

Ephesians 3:20 (AMPC)

The seventh aspect of the Spirit of God is the Spirit of the fear of God. This is the reverential fear of God that inspires awe in you. We need the Spirit of the fear of God to be restored in the Church today.

When we are looking the seven spirits of God, we are dealing with the person of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit has a unique access to the Father and Christ.

Jesus was successful in His ministry because He had the fullness of the Holy Spirit in Him. (Reference: Isaiah 11:1-5)

In Revelation 5:6, the eyes denote vision. Jesus could see with spiritual insight the issues of the hearts of people. Jesus could also see the start and the finish.

Only Christ is able to judge sin perfectly. (Reference: Isaiah 11:1-5)

The horn in Revelation 5:6 denotes authority and power in the Holy Spirit. Jesus taught as one who spoke with authority.

For He was teaching as One Who had [and was] authority, and not as [did] the scribes.

Matthew 7:29 (AMPC)

Then Jesus called together the Twelve [apostles] and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases.

By having the eyes of your heart flooded with light, so that you can know and understand the hope to which He has called you, and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints (His set-apart ones).

Ephesians 1:18 (AMPC)

The seven lamps of fire in Revelation 4:5 denote the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

I indeed baptize you in (with) water because of repentance [that is, because of your changing your minds for the better, heartily amending your ways, with abhorrence of your past sins]. But He Who is coming after me is mightier than I, Whose sandals I am not worthy or fit to take off or carry; He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.

Matthew 3:11 (AMPC)

John answered them all by saying, I baptize you with water; but He Who is mightier than I is coming, the strap of Whose sandals I am not fit to unfasten. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.

Luke 3:16 AMPC

The flames also denote illumination of the wisdom of God. The entrance of the Word of God brings light to make you wise.

The seven Spirits of God testify of Jesus Christ and the truth of who He is.

The ministry of the Holy Spirit is to bring us to the perfection of Jesus Christ. The truth that the Holy Spirit leads you into should spring forth from your heart to lead you to action and completion of everything in the lordship of Jesus Christ.

The seven Spirits of God bring Godly thoughts in your life to lead you to Godly actions in your life. The Holy Spirit that births you into Godliness by water and the Spirit. You partake of the nature of God.

The seven Spirits of God are basically the operations of God.

Hear now, O Joshua the high priest, you and your colleagues who [usually] sit before you—for they are men who are a sign or omen [types of what is to come]—for behold, I will bring forth My servant the Branch.

Zechariah 3:8 (AMPC)

Since you have [already] tasted the goodness and kindness of the Lord. Come to Him [then, to that] Living Stone which men tried and threw away, but which is chosen [and] precious in God’s sight. [Come] and, like living stones, be yourselves built [into] a spiritual house, for a holy (dedicated, consecrated) priesthood, to offer up [those] spiritual sacrifices [that are] acceptable and pleasing to God through Jesus Christ. For thus it stands in Scripture: Behold, I am laying in Zion a chosen (honored), precious chief Cornerstone, and he who believes in Him [who adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Him] shall never be  disappointed or put to shame

1 Peter 2:3-6 (AMPC)

The branch in Zechariah 3:8 and the stone in 1 Peter 2:3-6 are one. This is the Living Stone, who is Jesus Christ.

In the same way Christ is the stone, we are to be the stone with the same seven eyes; the seven aspects of the Holy Spirit. We are the living stones fashioned after Him.

We are to be full of the seven-fold dimension of the Holy Spirit that enables us to do things only we were ordained to do.

And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery; but ever be filled and stimulated with the [Holy] Spirit.

Ephesians 5:18 (AMPC)

God desires that we are full of the fullness of the Holy Spirit to be able to function.

Eagerly pursue and seek to acquire [this] love [make it your aim, your great quest]; and earnestly desire and cultivate the spiritual endowments (gifts), especially that you may prophesy (interpret the divine will and purpose in inspired preaching and teaching).

1 Corinthians 14:1 (AMPC)
