INFEMI SOE 2014 (Day 3): Walking In The Knowledge Of Christ | INFEMI Sermon By Bishop Mulumbi

INFEMI SOE 2014 (Day 3) – Walking In The Knowledge Of Christ: INFEMI Sermon By Apostle Gobanga

[For my determined purpose is] that I may know Him [that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and more clearly], and that I may in that same way come to know the power outflowing from His resurrection [which it exerts over believers], and that I may so share His sufferings as to be continually transformed [in spirit into His likeness even] to His death, [in the hope].

Philippians 3:10

When you deny Christ you have denied God Himself.

One can only know Christ through the Holy Spirit. You must be filled and led by the Spirit of God.

The Spirit of truth is the Spirit of revelation. By the revelation of truth, men come to know the treasures of wisdom and knowledge hidden in Christ.

Jesus was 100% man (he had a body, soul and human spirit) and was 100% God. God is neither male nor female. He is God.

The humanity of Jesus Christ is not a distinct person that has been separated from His Divine nature.

The human nature of Jesus was 100% man possessing none of the attributes of God. This was the only way He would qualify to be human.

The body of Jesus Christ did not possess any component of Divinity i.e. His God nature & human nature balance. They didn’t supersede one another.

Each of these natures (both God and man) were united in the person of Jesus Christ. Each of these natures retained their distinct properties.

The soul of man (mind, emotion, will) was created so that human beings can exist as a person to be able to relate with God as He is a person.

The divine nature of Christ (on earth) was unique and different. It was infinite and sovereign.

Jesus was created like every human being but without sin as He did not have the Adamic nature. His conception did not come from humanity but by the Holy Spirit. Jesus did not have the nature of fallen man.

The human nature of Jesus Christ never existed before time. His human nature increased in wisdom, stature and favour with God and man.

Just as Jesus increased in wisdom, knowledge, stature and favour with God and man, we too can increase in the same.

We must come to a place where we affirm that Jesus was both man and God. This is the only way He could qualify to be the mediator between God and man. He fills the void between God and man.

Jesus is the only one who could qualify to be the mediator between God and man. He understood the heart and mind of God and was acquainted with the weaknesses of humanity.

The victory of Jesus over temptation was to prove to us that it is possible to overcome temptation, sin & the fear of death in our humanity.

Jesus had to endure the penalty of the curse of the law. He tasted sin, not as a sinner, but so as to pay the full penalty of sin as man not as God.

The nature of Christ is what gives you definition.

We should not focus much on Jesus’ human nature. What is fundamental to us is His divine nature.

If we relate with one another exclusive of the nature of Christ in each of us, we will continue to have strife. The human nature is sinful.

The human nature has limitations and incapacities. God’s nature in us is what enables us to relate well with Him and with fellow humanity.

You need to know who you are in Christ and your dimension so as to know your boundaries and spiritual jurisdictions.

We need to come to the place where we operate with another kind of authority that has no limitations (generational, educational, etc).

The person of Jesus Christ takes you to heaven. But the principles of Christ will enable you to know how to relate with people.

The Spirit of God leads you to all the fullness of Christ. We need to go back to the place where we teach on the Holy Ghost.

If you do not know God, you will not know yourself. If you do not know yourself, you will not be able to know others or relate well with them.

When you walk with Christ, your motivation will be to glorify Christ.
