The Construct Of Configuration Within The Prophetic Culture: Sermon By Minister Evans Onyango

And Moses answered, But behold, they will not believe me or listen to and obey my voice; for they will say, The Lord has not appeared to you. And the Lord said to him, What is that in your hand? And he said, A rod. And He said, Cast it on the ground. And he did so and it became a serpent [the symbol of royal and divine power worn on the crown of the Pharaohs]; and Moses fled from before it. And the Lord said to Moses, Put forth your hand and take it by the tail. And he stretched out his hand and caught it, and it became a rod in his hand, [This you shall do, said the Lord] that the elders may believe that the Lord, the God of their fathers, of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, has indeed appeared to you. The Lord said also to him, Put your hand into your bosom. He put his hand into his bosom, and when he took it out, behold, his hand was leprous, as white as snow. [God] said, Put your hand into your bosom again.

So he put his hand back into his bosom, and when he took it out, behold, it was restored as the rest of his flesh. [Then God said] If they will not believe you or heed the voice or the testimony of the first sign, they may believe the voice or the witness of the second sign. But if they will also not believe these two signs or heed your voice, you shall take some water of the river [Nile] and pour it upon the dry land; and the water which you take out of the river [Nile] shall become blood on the dry land. And Moses said to the Lord, O Lord, I am not eloquent or a man of words, neither before nor since You have spoken to Your servant; for I am slow of speech and have a heavy and awkward tongue. And the Lord said to him, Who has made man’s mouth? Or who makes the dumb, or the deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? Is it not I, the Lord? Now therefore go, and I will be with your mouth and will teach you what you shall say. And he said, Oh, my Lord, I pray You, send by the hand of [some other] whom You will [send]. Then the anger of the Lord blazed against Moses; He said, Is there not Aaron your brother, the Levite? I know he can speak well. Also, he is coming out to meet you, and when he sees you, he will be overjoyed.

Exodus 4:1-14 (AMP)

The words of Jeremiah the son of Hilkiah, of the priests who were in Anathoth in the land of Benjamin, to whom the word of the Lord came in the days of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah, in the thirteenth year of his reign. It came also in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, until the end of the eleventh year of Zedekiah the son of Josiah, king of Judah, until the carrying away of Jerusalem captive in the fifth month.

Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying: “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.” Then said I: “Ah, Lord God! Behold, I cannot speak, for I am a youth.” But the Lord said to me: “Do not say, ‘I am a youth,’ For you shall go to all to whom I send you, and whatever I command you, you shall speak. Do not be afraid of their faces, for I am with you to deliver you,” says the Lord. Then the Lord put forth His hand and touched my mouth, and the Lord said to me: “Behold, I have put My words in your mouth. See, I have this day set you over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out and to pull down, to destroy and to throw down, to build and to plant.” Moreover the word of the Lord came to me, saying, “Jeremiah, what do you see?” And I said, “I see a branch of an almond tree.” Then the Lord said to me, “You have seen well, for I am ready to perform My word.” And the word of the Lord came to me the second time, saying, “What do you see?” And I said, “I see a boiling pot, and it is facing away from the north.”

Then the Lord said to me: “Out of the north calamity shall break forth on all the inhabitants of the land. For behold, I am calling all the families of the kingdoms of the north,” says the Lord;
“They shall come and each one set his throne at the entrance of the gates of Jerusalem, against all its walls all around, and against all the cities of Judah. I will utter My judgments against them concerning all their wickedness, because they have forsaken Me, burned incense to other gods, and worshiped the works of their own hands. “Therefore prepare yourself and arise, and speak to them all that I command you. Do not be dismayed before their faces, lest I dismay you before them. For behold, I have made you this day a fortified city and an iron pillar, and bronze walls against the whole land— against the kings of Judah, against its princes, against its priests, and against the people of the land. They will fight against you, but they shall not prevail against you. For I am with you,” says the Lord, “to deliver you.”

Jeremiah 1:1-19 (NKJV)

And it happened, as He was alone praying, that His disciples joined Him, and He asked them, saying, “Who do the crowds say that I am?” So they answered and said, “John the Baptist, but some say Elijah; and others say that one of the old prophets has risen again.” He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter answered and said, “The Christ of God.” And He strictly warned and commanded them to tell this to no one, saying, “The Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day.”

Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it. For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and is himself destroyed or lost? For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words, of him the Son of Man will be ashamed when He comes in His own glory, and in His Father’s, and of the holy angels. But I tell you truly, there are some standing here who shall not taste death till they see the kingdom of God.”

Luke 9:18-27 (NKJV)

Every human being has a configuration. It goes beyond your identity. For you to be able to function, you need to know your configuration

There is individual configuration and corporate configuration. This is the assignment of the church you are in.

Configuration’s root word is ‘configuratio’ in Latin which means shape after a pattern. Configuration is a design, format and set up.

Configuration is the divine set up of elements packaged in a vessel derived from a divine template.

Elements mean your expression – who you are in Christ. Your configuration is vested in Christ.

Divine set up refers to the make up derived from God.

We carry the nature of Christ.

A divine template or pattern is a blueprint and guide. It cannot be recreated. Elements of configuration can be passed on to another through impartation.

For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift, so that you may be established.

Romans 1:11 (NKJV)

You can never be like someone else. You can only be you as God configured you to be for His purpose.

It can take years for you to understand the configuration you carry. E.g. you and another may be prophets but with different configurations.

The way God expresses the divine template in a person or the church may differ depending on time and season but the principle remains the same.

Your configuration will let you know which geographies you are called to. You will understand your divine placement and relate well with a father figure depending on how you understand your divine configuration.

Many people in the Body of Christ fall short of function because they are trying to customize their configuration.

Do not be renegade and cut away from fellowship. It is in fellowship that you will understand your call and configuration.

Many people are running on installed software that is contrary to the Divine operating system.

Now it came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown, that he went out to his brethren and looked at their burdens. And he saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his brethren. So he looked this way and that way, and when he saw no one, he killed the Egyptian and hid him in the sand. And when he went out the second day, behold, two Hebrew men were fighting, and he said to the one who did the wrong, “Why are you striking your companion?” Then he said, “Who made you a prince and a judge over us? Do you intend to kill me as you killed the Egyptian?” So Moses feared and said, “Surely this thing is known!”

Exodus 2:11-14 (NKJV)

Moses realizes that what God placed in him was different from who the Egyptians are.

God sends you to the wilderness because that circumstance is where your default configuration will manifest and you’ll be aligned to it.

The wilderness creates problems that cause the configuration in you to offer divine solutions.

What is the authority and configuration vested in who you are? It goes beyond your title, beyond your identity.

Without being in the wilderness, some things that God configured within you will not manifest.

You cannot understand your vision without understanding your configuration. Your vision transports you, your configuration is what fuels you.

When you do not understand the vision of God for your life, return to your configuration. It illuminates the template of your vision.

Your identity is a reservoir of your talents, ability, or that which your configuration draws out from.

Knowing your configuration enables you to understand your boundaries. You can never be given an assignment outside of your God given configuration.

Configuration is intangible. It is in the spirit.

God will use certain physical things to allude to some realities in the realms of the spirit.

Christ has a configuration that is infinite in nature. (Luke 9:18-27 NKJV)

Jesus knew that because of His configuration, He was to die for mankind.

The prophetic culture alludes to a people that have embraced a way of life. There is a value system. It is an environment that needs to be tilled.

The prophetic culture overhauls your personal culture. The environment changes you. The prophetic culture enables the voice of God to spring forth.

The prophetic culture refers to a people that have embraced a way of life, language, values, i.e. Kingdom culture.

Holiness is housing a Holy God.

The prophetic culture is an environment and it must be cultured via prayer and the word of God where the voice of God comes forth.

Your configuration can only find expression when you are in a place of freedom (where you are in your native element). It is an Eden.

Your configuration will be tested. It is in that place that aspects of your configuration will manifest.

You will never understand the move of God in your life or time and season, if you do not understand your configuration.

Repetitive sin is a just an indicator of the truths you have forgotten.

You cannot run with the vision of your church if you do not understand your configuration. You are in the ministry to plug into the vision.

A prophetic culture is a perfected attitude and behaviour shared by a people that are prophetic due to their reception of knowledge and values from their relationship with God.

It is an atmosphere that God brings you into to bring an alignment in your life.

People become prophetic when they are receptive of divine knowledge and values from their relationship with God.

Relationship is beyond exercise. It is as a result of covenant.

The wilderness is a good opportunity for your configuration to manifest.  It may show you that you are in the wrong placement. It calls you back to your default factory settings.

The tangibility is vested in your nature and not in your configuration. It is out of your nature that you will be able to express your configuration.
