The Proximate Streams Of The River Of The Spirit Of Wisdom & Revelation: Sermon By Apostle Gobanga
Then he brought me back to the door of the temple; and there was water, flowing from under the threshold of the temple toward the east, for the front of the temple faced east; the water was flowing from under the right side of the temple, south of the altar. He brought me out by way of the north gate, and led me around on the outside to the outer gateway that faces east; and there was water, running out on the right side. And when the man went out to the east with the line in his hand, he measured one thousand cubits, and he brought me through the waters; the water came up to my ankles. Again he measured one thousand and brought me through the waters; the water came up to my knees. Again he measured one thousand and brought me through; the water came up to my waist. Again he measured one thousand, and it was a river that I could not cross; for the water was too deep, water in which one must swim, a river that could not be crossed. 6 He said to me, “Son of man, have you seen this?” Then he brought me and returned me to the bank of the river.
When I returned, there, along the bank of the river, were very many trees on one side and the other. Then he said to me: “This water flows toward the eastern region, goes down into the valley, and enters the sea. When it reaches the sea, its waters are healed. And it shall be that every living thing that moves, wherever the rivers go, will live. There will be a very great multitude of fish, because these waters go there; for they will be healed, and everything will live wherever the river goes. It shall be that fishermen will stand by it from En Gedi to En Eglaim; they will be places for spreading their nets. Their fish will be of the same kinds as the fish of the Great Sea, exceedingly many. But its swamps and marshes will not be healed; they will be given over to salt. Along the bank of the river, on this side and that, will grow all kinds of trees used for food; their leaves will not wither, and their fruit will not fail. They will bear fruit every month, because their water flows from the sanctuary. Their fruit will be for food, and their leaves for medicine.
Ezekiel 47:1-12 (NKJV)
After an experience, God has always ordained an experience that is proximate.
God introduces us to experiences for us to know more about Him; His reality. God never wants us to be caught up in experiences but to draw the reality from them. The experience of the former cannot be compared to the latter.
Proximate streams is a venture to what you have never known so that you do not get familiar with God’s presence.
There are dimensions in the Spirit.
You need to understand the person and presence of God to know that seasons have changed in the Spirit.
You must be willing to transmute/ transpose/shift in the Spirit to be able to receive an impartation by the Spirit of God.
Proximate episode is a place where the River of God moves from the Temple.
The River is similar to the river mentioned in Genesis that went out of Eden and split into four heads.
Now a river went out of Eden to water the garden, and from there it parted and became four riverheads. The name of the first is Pishon; it is the one which skirts the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold. And the gold of that land is good. Bdellium and the onyx stone are there. The name of the second river is Gihon; it is the one which goes around the whole land of Cush. The name of the third river is Hiddekel; it is the one which goes toward the east of Assyria. The fourth river is the Euphrates.
Genesis 2:10-14 (NKJV)
There is Divine symbolism in nature that pertain to heaven and the Church.
God creates in the physical what corresponds to the spiritual.
Every name has a particular nature.
The River has a particular reality.
Eden was a highly developed state of heavenly love. There can’t be a place of delight if there is no heavenly love; it is Divinely inspired.
The River was a river of Divine wisdom and revelation. It was flowing through the mind of humanity.
The Garden was a heavenly cultivated state of beautiful intelligence.
The River had no name as it was Divine.
The River in Ezekiel’s vision has the following characteristics:
- The River carried only Divine wisdom. You cannot carry yourself. The Spirit of God has to carry you.
- The River came forth from below the altar.
- The Rivers represented wisdom, knowledge, understanding and revelation.
The streams are fragments and accessories of Divine Truth that have prophetic function that enrich the life of a particular person.
The River in Eden represents Divine truth.
The Tree Of Life is a representation of the resurrected Christ.
The wisdom of God cannot be grasped in its entirety by a finite mind.
God has a four-fold revelation of Himself as symbolised by Ezekiel’s vision:
- The Lion represents the Kingship of Jesus Christ as revealed in the Book of Matthew
- Mark revealed Jesus as a servant, prefigured by the image of the Ox
- Luke presents Jesus as man, prefigured by the image of man and
- John presents Jesus as the Son of God, prefigured by the eagle, as an eagle represents Divinity.
God ministers to the mind in a four-fold manner. The Spirit of God ministers to one revelation, wisdom, understanding and revelation.
God needs to minister to the celestial, spiritual, natural and rational part of the mind. Ministration needs to be made in these four dimensions.
The four rivers were Pishon, Gihon, Hiddekel, Euphrates.
Pishon means change or extension in Hebrew. Spiritually, it is the operation of Divine wisdom over man’s will.
The will of humanity undergoes a change in so far as quality is concerned.
We need to come to a place where as a result of the operations of the Spirit of wisdom upon our minds, we turn our affections towards God’s will.
Gihon in Hebrew means a stream or valley of grace.
There is the understanding or perception of heavenly grace is concerned. You can be very moral but not spiritual. Being moral does not mean that you know God. This is the grace that allows you to flow not just positionally but with mandate to execute.
There is a particular grace required for each season. Every season has a unique grace. When you are graced, you know there is a change in season and you align accordingly.
Hiddekel spiritually represents a place where one captures the prophetic word of counsel that comes from God.
One needs to capture God’s instruction for each season.
There is a component of the mind that sees. There is an eye that enables one to be creative. That area needs ministration by God otherwise there will be distortion.
Euphrates in Hebrew means to make fruitful.
God has ordained that we are to be fruitful and do works in the Kingdom.
The River is packaged with Divine favor, the goodness of God and the graces of the Lord.
The River was transmitted from God’s throne to God’s people. There is only one throne of God.
Through revelation (light and life), one gets deeper into the things of God. To know yourself, you need to know God.
God is the light, Christ is the Lamb and the light is within the Lamb.
There is the plurality in the Persons of God.
The River of Life flows via the Spirit. God the Father resident in Christ is ushered by the Spirit. The River of God is representative of the Trinity.
We need to receive infinite streams of knowledge, wisdom, revelation and understanding.
The River started from a threshold – the place of the altar. The place of the altar is a place separation and a place of covenant. The place of the altar is a place of new beginnings.
The River begun as a small stream. The River speaks of a new move of the Spirit of God. Every new move of the Spirit begins in a small way before it gains momentum.
Every new move of God begins at the place of the altar where there is death and renewal of covenant.
When you lose your altar, you will miss out on God’s move.
God gives a fragment of revelation that we can handle in every season.
Deepening and multiplication that occurs in one’s life.
The Temple represents the Church of Jesus Christ.
As a Body, we need to start small by obeying every counsel that He has given to us.
At the threshold, you are ushered to a new place in God.
To be a partaker of God’s anointing release, it is required that one dwell with other brethren.
Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious oil upon the head, running down on the beard, the beard of Aaron, running down on the edge of his garments. It is like the dew of Hermon, descending upon the mountains of Zion; for there the Lord commanded the blessing – life forevermore.
Psalm 133 (NKJV)
The anointing flows where there is relationship and fellowship. In unity, gifts are stirred up.
To walk in unity, one needs to walk in submission and be willing to receive rebuke and correction.
The River passed through desolate places. Application – there are places where God will send you to minister healing.
The River passed through swampy places, which represents them that are dogmatic and religious. Swampy places do not sustain life for long.
If you remain unchanged in God’s presence, it points to a ruined altar.
We need to check on the state of our personal altars; the state of one’s prayer and Word life.
The purpose of the River of God is to impact one’s entire being.
It is dangerous to stay in a fellowship if you are not growing.
The move of God will only be effected when one is found at the place of the altar.
