The Mystery Of Celestial Awareness: Sermon By Rev. Richard Muendo
If then you have been raised with Christ [to a new life, thus sharing His resurrection from the dead], aim at and seek the [rich, eternal treasures] that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. And set your minds and keep them set on what is above (the higher things), not on the things that are on the earth.
Colossians 3:1-2 (AMP)
In the beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself. He was present originally with God. All things were made and came into existence through Him; and without Him was not even one thing made that has come into being. In Him was Life, and the Life was the Light of men.
John 1:1-4 (AMP)
Celestial relates to or suggests Divinity.
Understanding what celestial makes reference to allows you to have celestial awareness.
Celestial in this sermon will be perceived through this Scripture:
In the beginning God (prepared, formed, fashioned, and) created the heavens and the earth.
Genesis 1:1 (AMP)
The celestial dimension is not a utopia experience. It is a walked in reality within the life of a believer.
The celestial dimension refers to heaven, which is the throne and seat of power where God dispenses all that He does through His people on earth. It is a place of dominion.
Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Matthew 6:10 (AMP)
Heaven is a reality that should be alive in you.
There are 3 levels of awareness:
- Feeling and experiencing and noticing something e.g. sound, emotion, etc.
- Knowing something exists such as a problem or situation. This happens in the realm of the mind.
- Knowing and understanding a lot about what happens in the world around you.
Understanding is translating knowledge into function. It happens in the spiritual man.
[For my determined purpose is] that I may know Him [that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and more clearly], and that I may in that same way come to know the power outflowing from His resurrection [which it exerts over believers], and that I may so share His sufferings as to be continually transformed [in spirit into His likeness even] to His death, [in the hope].
Philippians 3:10 (AMP)
Celestial awareness is a reality within the realm of the spirit where God and man have continued engagement. This continued engagement with God results in constant submission to the things of God that causes man to yield fruit for God’s kingdom.
When you look at your spirit, does it have the density of the presence of God due to continued engagement with the Spirit of God?
This continued engagement with God results in man deriving the nature of incorruptibility from Christ. Therefore, man stops seeing himself as a 3-dimensional being limited by externalities such as gender, skin colour, etc.
Heaven is multidimensional. We should not be 3-dimensional and distracted by the cares of the world which stop us from perceiving the multifaceted nature of God and His workings in our lives.
In heavenly terms, wealth is not defined by the amount of money you have but by the density of your person which without it will render you unable to locate and access that which you can convert from raw material to finished good as per your function or configuration. Wealth is not defined by the volume of your surrounding.
Celestial awareness goes beyond one’s momentary excitement. It is not a mental function. There is always something greater which is a life shift from the natural to the supernatural. You will continue living but from a different dimension of influence. From the supernatural, you derive function into the natural.
Has your reality shifted from short-sightedness to vision? Has there been a life shift where you subdue your uncertain surroundings with the power of faith?
Living with worldly consciousness will cause you to be dependent on the natural and its comforts. These comforts manifest as social status or a promotion. When you worry about the separation of comforts, it shows your dependence on the natural and lack of celestial awareness.
Fear is a type of energy that causes you to escape from engaging with the process of your prophetic destiny. By confronting your process, you declare to the heavens that you agree with the truth of God for your life. You end up converting the energy of fear into faith so that you can become who He says you are.
You need to see the truths embedded in times and seasons like the sons of Issachar to be able to apprehend the things of God as pertaining to time and season.
Your identity is derived from Christ and can only find fulfillment in God and in submission to one to another.
Bounds in the celestial dimension are not a limitation but a part of one’s configuration.
Within the celestial dimension, what may appear as a ‘limitation’ is not a limitation but a part of your configuration. E.g. You may be called to be a film maker and not a banker. That is not a limitation but a part of your configuration.
In the celestial dimension, we are unable to become and function unless it is through, in and by the Son – Jesus Christ.
In the celestial dimension, moments, times and seasons interact to become interdependent so that we do not see them as mutually exclusive but interdependent. They all consummate into the eternal continuum of time and space.
The end result of our configuration is not what we do e.g. banking, film making. It is Christ.
In the beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself.
John 1:1 (AMP)
Time and space is the beginning. The bounds of time and space are prophetically created so man can wade through the murky waters of process so as to become.
When you receive a prophetic word, you need to understand that it prompts you to shift from ignorance to knowledge. It comes with grace to go through the journey and process to become.
Truth will be a distant reality without the chord of fellowship with God and others. It needs you to apply it so that it is not mentally understood but also practical. This journey of apprehension of what God is saying is murky. We struggle in our walk with God because we struggle with receiving truth and applying it in our lives.
God is the finality of all things that are. That is why He is our hope.
For in Him we live and move and have our being; as even some of your [own] poets have said, For we are also His offspring.
Acts 17:28 (AMP)
Truth needs you to act according to the perfect will of God. It needs to be applied and this needs the power of the Holy Spirit.
Every human being has an innate desire for something beyond themselves. When we cease to try to make sense of things, that is when God’s heart and mind is revealed to us. When we do not interact with the supernatural, we have not interacted with the Gospel and cannot have fellowship with God (as He is spiritual and not physical).
God has never been and will never be invisible. The life we live, every existence finds expression in God alone.
Growth in the celestial is glorification to God. It is an acknowledgement of His desire for us to live in His image and likeness.
The one pillar we need in beginning to understand what God has for us is found in John 1:1. He wants us to transcends the limitations of time and space through fellowship with God. That way, you will begin to apprehend that which is the good, acceptable and perfect will of God.
Apostle Gobanga’s Addendum:
God gave us a body for the purposes of manifestation but your life is for the purpose of revelation. You can have a body yet have no revelation.
Jesus came in the likeness of man for one purpose – to manifest God and nothing else. Very few people were able to perceive Him as the Son of God through His lifestyle, the things He did and the words He spoke. It takes a son to reveal the things of God.
God said, Let Us [Father, Son, and Holy Spirit] make mankind in Our image, after Our likeness, and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the [tame] beasts, and over all of the earth, and over everything that creeps upon the earth. So God created man in His own image, in the image and likeness of God He created him; male and female He created them.
Genesis 1:26-27 (AMP)
Then the Lord God formed man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath or spirit of life, and man became a living being.
Genesis 2:7 (AMP)
Man existed as a spirit when he was made. He did not have a body. That is why we must perceive each other in the spirit. Only in the spirit can one be able to perceive the Divine.
A son is neither man or woman. A son is a spirit being. Man was given a body to be God’s representation on earth.
Christ existed not as man but as a spirit.
The reason why people do not understand the word of God is because they are so much in the body and not in the spirit where life is.
Jesus came to bear two witnesses: the natural and the spiritual. Many saw Him as a man or a great teacher sent by God. Peter however, saw Him as the Christ, the anointed Son of the living God. You need to see Christ as a Spirit being and as the perfect representation of the living God.
It is the Spirit Who gives life [He is the Life-giver]; the flesh conveys no benefit whatever [there is no profit in it]. The words (truths) that I have been speaking to you are spirit and life.
John 6:63 (AMP)
There is a difference between the Bible and the word of God. The Bible is a book that bears testimony to the word of God. Jesus said that the words that He speaks are life and spirit.
The word of God is spiritual but the Bible just has content that bears the testimony of Christ.
The true word of God is Christ. The word of God reveals Christ beyond the pages of the Bible. The Bible is just a book.
But He replied, It has been written, Man shall not live and be upheld and sustained by bread alone, but by every word that comes forth from the mouth of God.
Matthew 4:4 (AMP)
You must go beyond meditation to allow the Spirit of God to give you the proceeding word of the hour that is for you.
There is a difference between Christ the man and the Son of the living God.
When you capture Christ as the Son of God, you’ll stop struggling with sin and everything that you keep struggling with. Meditate on every scripture that shows Christ as the Son of God. Spend this December holiday reading the book of John and pray to the Holy Spirit to help you capture Jesus as the Son of God.
Adam was the first human representative but he was not the first son of God. Before him there was Christ. Not even Lucifer (who was an angelic being) was a son of God. Because we are made in the image and likeness of God (unlike the angels), we are in the order of Christ and Melchizedek. Our priesthood does not end.
