Evaluate Your Standing (Part 1) – 2016 February Fast (Day 3): Devotion By Rev. Geoffrey Muchai

On the third day, Jesus rose from the grave! May the power of resurrection activate every bone and ligament within you even as you celebrate Christ’s work on the cross over your life.

Today I want us to consider a Rhema we received as a community quite a while a go:

The Lord is saying that He is taking us to a place of rest. He is saying that there’s a time of hardship that is coming and He wants us in this season to rest. He wants us to rest in His presence. He wants us to know how to rest in His presence, how to seek refuge in Him.

The Lord is saying He wants us to enter a higher level of perception. There’s a level of perception that is required first of Him, and then of others, other brethren in our community that He wants us to enter into. He is saying that He wants us to enter this perception so that we can be able to perceive what He wants to do as well as what He wants to do in the lives of each other as well.

The Lord is saying that it is not enough for you to know what your purpose is. But it’s another thing to walk in light of that purpose. He is saying that He wants us to walk in light of that which He has spoken. He wants us to walk in the reality and the manifestation of that which He has called us to. He is saying that we shouldn’t just take prophetic words, listen to it and not do it. He wants us to be doers of His words. He wants us to be doers of that which He has told us. He is saying that if He gives us an instruction, in this season He wants us to follow it because there is an underlying principle. There is an underlying spiritual principle that He wants us to catch within the instruction that He is going to give us as INFEMI and as individuals.

The Lord is saying He wants us to enter a higher level of faith even as He takes us into this season of hardship. He is saying that it requires a higher level of faith. It requires a place where our faith is galvanized. A place where our faith is fully in Him. Where our reliance is fully on Him. Not on things of the world, not on people, not on things that we exalt above the knowledge of Him but a place where our reliance is fully on Him. Where our faith and our direction is sought from Him. Not from things that are around us. He is saying that it requires us to enter a place of submission to Him. A place of being diligent. A place of seeking Him diligently. A place of not sleeping but a place of tarrying in His presence. A place of continually seeking Him until there’s a shift. He is saying that He wants to take us to that place of faith. Of arising in faith, arising in boldness and arising in character.

The Lord is saying that He would like us to be diligent in His word. He is saying that in His word, in that which He has spoken, as well as the written word – the Logos – is where we will find our answers. Many of us are looking for answers in the wrong places and God is redirecting us back to His word. To the things that He has spoken and also to His spoken word. He is saying that some of us have been inconsistent. Some of us have been inconsistent in our prayer closets and as a result, it’s affecting our outer environment. He is saying that we should not focus on externalities but we should go back to Him, go back to our prayer closets, go back to being consistent, go back to being diligent at the place of our prayer closet. That is where we will find our answers.

God is saying there’s a place where if we are heavy, if we hold on to heaviness, if we hold on to anxiety, it will limit His presence from moving. He is saying, He wants us to come to a place where we take joy in His presence, we are joyful in His presence, we are happy in His presence. He is saying that His presence cannot be able to manifest without joy being there. He is saying that He wants us to be joyful. He wants us to be joyful in His presence. He wants us to be joyful because He’s given us life. And for that reason, He wants us to worship Him because of who He is. And that worship void of joy cannot be fulfilled, you cannot come to the place of fulfilment. He is saying that He wants us to be joyful whether it be in our prayer closets, be it in His presence, whenever we are in His presence, He wants us to be joyful. He wants us to be happy.

God is saying that there’s a higher level of grace that He wants us to tap into in the realms of the spirit. There’s a higher level of grace that we need to tap into for us to function. He is saying that He is calling us not just to the country itself and the city itself but He is saying to the nations. He is saying we need to arise. We need to begin to arise and know who He is and know our purpose in Him and know that our calling is greater than we think. He is saying that our calling is greater than we think. He is calling us to the nations and for that reason He wants us to have a mindset that is enlarged. A mindset that is not just focussed in one thing but He wants us to also have a mind that is able to study ahead, read ahead. If your calling is in the area of business know what you need to read so that you can be able to affect the area of business. If your calling is in the area of media, He wants you to go ahead and study what is required in the area of media so that you can be able to function in that gate because He is saying, void of that you will lack function.”

Rhema 11th August 2013

Assignment:

Take time to prayerfully evaluate where you currently stand in light of this Rhema. I also want you to share your experience either on this thread or in the cell groups based on what God said and your response to the same.

If it is your first time to read this Rhema, you can share the insight and wisdom you derive from it.

Let the format of the sharing conform to 2 Timothy 3:16:

  1. Lesson learnt
  2. Rebuke received
  3. Correction made
  4. Training received

All Scripture (read rhema) is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

2 Timothy 3:16-17
