Intimacy With God – 2016 February Fast (Day 9): Devotion By Deaconess Jackie Wandia
God created us in freedom to be His intimate allies. He seeks His allies still. Not religion. Not good church people but lovers. Friends of the deepest sort.
I will give them a heart to know that I am the Lord, and they shall be my people and I will be their God, for they shall return to me with their whole heart.
Jeremiah 24:7
Can there be any doubt that God wants to be sought after? The first and greatest of all commands is to love Him.
Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment.
Matthew 22:36-38
Jesus answered, “The most important is, Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.“
Mark 12:29-30
Not only does God long for us, but He longs to be loved by us. Oh, how we quickly forget this. How many of you see God as longing to be loved by you? We see Him as strong and powerful but not as One desiring to be loved by us.
The dimensions of the supernatural are available for our taking. But the Lord of Hosts, King of Glory says this day that He will not impart upon any man that does not walk in intimate relationship with Him those dimensions of the supernatural. If you are lazing around, says the Lord of Hosts waiting for your time to come, then the Lord of Hosts says in this day, that He will not wait for anyone. Instead, He shall act with those that are ready and that are willing and that are making the sacrifice at the place of intimate relationship to impart the dimensions of the supernatural, to impart the inheritance that He has spoken over. And He says that in this season of service, He shall again reward they that have a good heart.
Rhema 7th February 2016 (Part 2)
Looking at the latest Rhema word above we can note there is definitely a higher call for intimacy with God. God spoke of the supernatural in the beginning of the year and has again spoken of it. The condition to receiving an impartation is an intimate relationship with Him. He says that those waiting around for things to happen will miss out because He is working with those ready, willing and making a sacrifice at the place of intimacy. This is definitely not the first time that God has spoken of the need for us to have an intimate relationship with Him. Could it be that we have neglected our relationship with God?
The reality is, we will never be able to access spiritual things outside the presence of God. We need to continuously cultivate a relationship with God, not only because we are required to but because we truly desire Him.
Prayer Point:
Prayerfully evaluate you relationship with God.
Do you desire newness? This is the time to seek God and pray for a heart that truly loves Him. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you cultivate an intimate relationship with God out of love and desire.
