INFEMI SOE 2016 (Day 3) – The Royal Seed Must Rule Again: INFEMI Sermon By Bishop Mark Kegohi

But when Athaliah mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she arose and destroyed all the royal family of Judah. But Jehosheba, the daughter of the king, took Joash [infant] son of Ahaziah and stole him away from among the king’s sons who were to be slain, and she put him and his nurse in a bedchamber. So Jehosheba daughter of King Jehoram, sister of Ahaziah, and wife of Jehoiada the priest, hid [Joash] from [his grandmother] Athaliah, so that she did not slay him. And Joash was with them hidden in the house of God six years, and Athaliah reigned over the land.

2 Chronicles 22:10-12 (AMPC)

Athaliah was the daughter of Ahab, who had married Jezebel. Ahab’s life was messed up because of sorcery operating in his life. The whole nation was under attack as Jezebel was Antichrist. The Spirit of Jezebel is out to kill prophetic praise.

Jehoshaphat feared God and the land was revived because he had reverence for God. Jehoshaphat raised men to evangelize in the land. Jehoshaphat’s son was the husband of Athaliah.

And with them he sent Levites: Shemaiah, Nethaniah, Zebadiah, Asahel, Shemiramoth, Jehonathan, Adonijah, Tobijah, and Tobadonijah—the Levites; and with them Elishama and Jehoram, the priests.

 2 Chronicles 17:8 (NKJV)

The teaching of the Word of God leads to the restoration of the fear of God. When there was a revival in Judah, Jehovah God made sure He covered them and became their defence.

In the presence of war, there will be no progress and prosperity.

When the church goes lukewarm, the enemy will attack.

Jehoshaphat knew his position in God. The Church in Kenya needs to arise and take her position and restore the fear of the Lord. The seven churches in the book of Revelation are in Turkey. When they slept, the nation of Islam took over.

Young people are at the helm of the revival that is coming as it was in the 60’s and 70’s with the likes of Joe Kayo. Jostling for positions and titles extinguished the fire of the Spirit later in the 80’s and 90’s. It became religious worse than the mainstream churches.

As young people, we are being called to stir up revival in the gates of society. Revival springs up when the barriers of religion are broken down. When  religion checks in the church, the fire will go cold.

We are not members of a church but are a movement, filled by the Holy Ghost to change society. Revivalists in the land have no title and that has not reduced the power of God working through men. We look for titles and ranks in the Church because we lack relevance. Let’s not turn church into kiosks for selling paraphernalia. Our perspective should shift beyond titles. Grab the Gospel and run with it.

We need to re-introduce the place of prayer in the house of God instead of selling handkerchiefs. We need to study the lives of the Gospel fathers. Paul said that he counts everything as dung. Selfishness and pride is killing the Gospel.

Jehoshaphat raised people who are not ashamed of the Gospel to restore it to its rightful place.

For I am not ashamed of the Gospel (good news) of Christ, for it is God’s power working unto salvation [for deliverance from eternal death] to everyone who believes with a personal trust and a confident surrender and firm reliance, to the Jew first and also to the Greek

Romans 1:16 (AMPC)

Our faith should be on the risen Christ, who is seated with the Father in Heaven. The Gospel doesn’t need any man’s support. We are being called to the place of prayer. Paul spoke of Christ who lived in him.

For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]; it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul) and [the immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart.

Hebrews 4:12 (AMPC)

The word of God is powerful enough to change your life. The Gospel is being killed by selfishness and pride.

Jehoshaphat was allied to Ahab by marriage. Jehoshaphat was a revivalist but he entered into an unholy alliance with an evil king. We need to avoid wrong alliances. We are called as royalty and as priests. We need not have alliances that interfere with our worship.

Now Jehoshaphat had great riches and honor, but was allied [by marriage] with Ahab. After some years he went down to Ahab in Samaria. And Ahab killed sheep and oxen for him in abundance and for the people with him and persuaded him to go up with him against Ramoth-gilead. Ahab king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat king of Judah, Will you go with me to Ramoth-gilead? He answered, I am as you are, and my people as your people; we will be with you in the war.

2 Chronicles 18:1-3 (AMPC)

When there are gimmicks in the church, we kill faith. Believe the Gospel and it will work for you.

When the fire of God is alive in you, nothing threatens you. No persecution will threaten you. We are being called out of being wishy-washy and timid by the small cares of the world. We are being called to walk in high dimensions of power and shake up wherever we are.

But the people that do who know their God will be strong, and do exploits.

Daniel 11:32b (NKJV)

Nothing should intimidate you. Compromise with the world will destroy you.

The Gospel is too real to be denied. Jesus is too real to be denied. When revival breaks forth, persecution rises.

We as Christians are not on equal ground as Muslims or Catholics.

Jehoram was thirty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem. And he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, just as the house of Ahab had done, for he had the daughter of Ahab as a wife; and he did evil in the sight of the Lord.

2nd Chronicles 21:5-6 (NKJV)

Forty-two years old was Ahaziah when he began his one-year reign in Jerusalem. His mother was Athaliah, a granddaughter of Omri. He also walked in the ways of the house of Ahab, for his mother was his counselor to do wickedly.

2 Chronicles 22:2-4 (AMPC)

But when Athaliah mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she arose and destroyed all the royal family of Judah.

 2 Chronicles 22:10 AMPC

Jehoram, Jehoshaphat’s son, also allied with Ahaziah, the son of Ahab. What you are doing will affect your children.

Ahaziah’s child was hidden in the Temple of God.

In the seventh year Jehoiada [the priest] took strength and courage and made a covenant with the captains of hundreds: Azariah son of Jeroham, Ishmael son of Jehohanan, Azariah son of Obed, Maaseiah son of Adaiah, and Elishaphat son of Zichri. And they went about in Judah and gathered the Levites out of all the cities, and the chiefs of the fathers’ houses of Israel, and they came to Jerusalem. And all the assembly made a covenant in the house of God with the king [little Joash, to suddenly proclaim his sovereignty and overthrow Athaliah’s tyranny]. And Jehoiada the priest said to them, Behold, the king’s son shall reign, as the Lord has said of the offspring of David.

 2 Chronicles 23:1-3 (AMPC)

It is not for the wicked ones to rule. There was a seed that was spared. The church will rise again in this nation.

Then they brought out the king’s son and put the crown on him and gave him the testimony or law and made him king. And Jehoiada and his sons anointed him and said, Long live the king! When Athaliah heard the noise of the people running and praising the king, she went into the Lord’s house to the people. And behold, there the king stood by his pillar at the entrance, the captains and the trumpeters beside him; and all the people of the land rejoicing and blowing trumpets, and the singers with musical instruments led in singing of praise. Athaliah rent her clothes and cried, Treason! Treason! Then Jehoiada the priest commanded the captains of hundreds who were over the army, Bring her out between the ranks, and whoever follows her, let him be slain with the sword. For the priest said, Do not slay her in the Lord’s house. So they made way for Athaliah, and she went into the entrance of the Horse Gate of the king’s house; there they slew her. Then Jehoiada made a covenant between himself, all the people, and the king, that they should be the Lord’s people.

2 Chronicles 23:11-16 (AMPC)

For Kenya, it is not too late. There is a remnant that will arise to rule again. It is time to ignite the fire of revival. We cannot sit and watch all the evil that is prevailing in the land.

In the wilderness, the Israelites ate manna. For so long as you are in the wilderness, you cannot draw people into Church.
