The Incandesce Of Sonship Via The Hub Of Process – Part 8: Sermon By Bishop Gobanga
In [this] freedom Christ has made us free [and completely liberated us]; stand fast then, and do not be hampered and held ensnared and submit again to a yoke of slavery [which you have once put off]. Notice, it is I, Paul, who tells you that if you receive circumcision, Christ will be of no profit (advantage, avail) to you [for if you distrust Him, you can gain nothing from Him]. I once more protest and testify to every man who receives circumcision that he is under obligation and bound to practice the whole of the Law and its ordinances. If you seek to be justified and declared righteous and to be given a right standing with God through the Law, you are brought to nothing and so separated (severed) from Christ. You have fallen away from grace (from God’s gracious favor and unmerited blessing).
Galatians 5:1-4 (AMPC)
But now that the faith has come, we are no longer under a trainer (the guardian of our childhood). For in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God through faith. For as many [of you] as were baptized into Christ [into a spiritual union and communion with Christ, the Anointed One, the Messiah] have put on (clothed yourselves with) Christ.
Galatians 3:25-27 (AMPC)
We become sons by placing our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. You became a son through the new way that God has provided by hearing Him and obeying Him.
We become alienated from the Son and hearing from God by going back to our old ways (making decisions from our mind rather than from the Spirit of God). This in essence hinders us from becoming sons of God.
The Spirit of God cannot minister to you outside grace. Only at the place of grace will you be able to hear and understand His counsel.
When we engage in our old way, we cause the grace of God to be lifted from our lives. Engaging in old ways is the protocol of idolatry. We need to turn to God and not to self e.g. achievements and past strategies.
Every move of God abides in a frame of time and season.
When God is about to do something, He ushers you into a move of God. It’s dangerous for you to create a doctrine or religious dogma out of that which is prophetic. That is idolatry.
When you camp around a move of God which is obsolete and outdated, you drift from that which is Spirit to idolatry.
For in Him we live and move and have our being; as even some of your [own] poets have said, For we are also His offspring.
Acts 17:28 (AMPC)
There is no pattern or structure with God.
God does not want us to camp around a move. He wants us to draw our nature and essence from Him.
Everything that worked for you in the past season will not work for you in the new season. It requires one to plug into the flow of the Spirit to capture creative flows.
Sons that are ever present in the presence of God have solutions for this lost generation.
God will not bless that which He did not ordain. He will never pay for that which He did not order. What has God ordered for you? He never pays for the flesh.
The era of credentials is coming to an end. It will get to a point where you need an encounter with the divine.
In some things, you don’t need papers. You just need to be you.
You cannot afford to stay in the old way of doing things.
The Galatians returned to their old ways thereby invalidating the complete work of Christ on the Cross. They relied on works instead of the Cross.
Many have started employing other methods i.e. corporate structures into the Church. A lot of churches resemble organisations so much so that they have become religious corporations.
The Church is a living organism that has got to be birthed in the spirit through prayer.
Backsliding is not instant and will not just happen. It’s a journey punctuated by self-reference and not relying on God. You start by giving up on the grace of God in your life.
It’s possible for you to be a Christian and still lack the ministration of grace in your life.
The carnal man has a tendency to taunt the spirit man especially when you begin moving in the Spirit.
But what does the Scripture say? Cast out and send away the slave woman and her son, for never shall the son of the slave woman be heir and share the inheritance with the son of the free woman.
Galatians 4:30 (AMPC)
Ishmael is the original son. He represents the way things were done. He represents tradition, culture, customs and normative way of doing things.
Isaac is the son of the promise. He was taunted by Ishmael. Similarly, the flesh wars against the spirit man.
Our inheritance is based upon our maturing and growing up. Inheritance is for sons not for children. Inheritance does not happen unless we mature in God. Prophetic words require maturity.
A sensible father will never entrust inheritance to a child.
We grow up by hearing God, obeying Him, discerning Him and spending quality and quantity time with God.
Unless you go through the Cross, you will not mature. Part of maturity is to kill the flesh.
Children are quick to dismiss prophetic words because they do not understand discipline. Children want to be popular. They want to be in the limelight.
For the desires of the flesh are opposed to the [Holy] Spirit, and the [desires of the] Spirit are opposed to the flesh (godless human nature); for these are antagonistic to each other [continually withstanding and in conflict with each other], so that you are not free but are prevented from doing what you desire to do. But if you are guided (led) by the [Holy] Spirit, you are not subject to the Law. Now the doings (practices) of the flesh are clear (obvious): they are immorality, impurity, indecency, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, anger (ill temper), selfishness, divisions (dissensions), party spirit (factions, sects with peculiar opinions, heresies), envy, drunkenness, carousing, and the like.
I warn you beforehand, just as I did previously, that those who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the [Holy] Spirit [the work which His presence within accomplishes] is love, joy (gladness), peace, patience (an even temper, forbearance), kindness, goodness (benevolence), faithfulness, gentleness (meekness, humility), self-control (self-restraint, continence). Against such things there is no law [that can bring a charge]. And those who belong to Christ Jesus (the Messiah) have crucified the flesh (the godless human nature) with its passions and appetites and desires. If we live by the [Holy] Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit. [If by the Holy Spirit we have our life in God, let us go forward walking in line, our conduct controlled by the Spirit.]
Galatians 5:17-25 (AMPC)
A wise servant shall have rule over a son who causes shame, and shall share in the inheritance among the brothers.
Proverbs 17:2 (AMPC)
He who troubles his own house shall inherit the wind, and the foolish shall be servant to the wise of heart.
Proverbs 11:29 (AMPC)
The children of His servants shall inherit it, and those who love His name shall dwell in it.
Psalm 69:36 (AMPC)
It’s possible as a believer to mix living from your mind and living by the Spirit. It is dangerous to mix components of the flesh with things of the Spirit.
Too much logic has destroyed many people’s walk with God. Logic can only thrive in a particular context but the spiritual is unlimited.
From failure to follow the Spirit, Ishmael is born out of impatience and reliance to customs and traditions of the day. Abraham and Sarah did not do what was illegal but it was nonetheless unspiritual in the eyes of God.
Patience is key to get what the Lord promised. It’s dangerous to be impatient with what God has spoken to you.
Patience is a demonstration of faith and it will qualify you to inherit the promise of God.
You can only have faith for what you’ve heard.
Such hope never disappoints or deludes or shames us, for God’s love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit Who has been given to us.
Romans 5:5 (AMPC)
Be patient. Trust God and wait for someone to confirm – a matter is confirmed by the witness of 2 or 3 spiritual people.
Every aspect of His will is fulfilled in Kairos (God’s perfect time).
The flesh and the Spirit can not live together. One has to go.
When you are a child of the Spirit, you will know how to wait on God. Don’t allow human wisdom to stay in your heart, allow God to lead you.
The work of the flesh will bring forth the flesh. The flesh cannot be an heir with the son of the Spirit.
Many people have used the flesh to serve God. That which is not of God will always produce the flesh. That’s why it’s is not blessed.
The works of the flesh are a hindrance for the move of God in your life. Lack of breakthrough is due to presence of the works of the flesh.
The sin of presumption conceals itself in that which is noble. This sin still hinders the move of God and will still lead to a harvest of the flesh.
God does not bless your works of your hands. He blesses your heart, which is the source of those works.
A pastor cannot reject you. It’s the works you produce that keep you at the place of rejection.
We need to distinguish the things that God blesses (works) and the things He Inhabits (our lives). The blessing is a function of this presence [re: Obed Edom].
The presence of God is a hub of perpetuating the blessings of God.
When the Lord inhabits, He not only leads you by His Spirit but inculcates the supernatural capacity to manifest as the son He destined you to be.
Manifestation is then also coupled with His grace. For you to enjoy the blessings of God, you need His grace that is also captured by His presence.
The blessing of the Lord makes rich, and he adds no sorrow with it.
Proverbs 10:22 (ESV)
The blessing adds no sorrow. It is upon the life of the person He blesses and is in his generations that follow (Psalm 112).
Praise the Lord! Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, Who delights greatly in His commandments. His descendants will be mighty on earth; the generation of the upright will be blessed. Wealth and riches will be in his house, and his righteousness endures forever. Unto the upright there arises light in the darkness; He is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous. A good man deals graciously and lends; He will guide his affairs with discretion.
Surely he will never be shaken; the righteous will be in everlasting remembrance. He will not be afraid of evil tidings; His heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord. His heart is established; He will not be afraid, until he sees his desire upon his enemies. He has dispersed abroad, He has given to the poor; His righteousness endures forever; His horn will be exalted with honor. The wicked will see it and be grieved. He will gnash his teeth and melt away. The desire of the wicked shall perish.
Psalm 112 (NKJV)
This is a foundational generational blessing that comes from impartation. Impartation as a result of fellowship, communion and relationship.
Children are quick to get blessings. Sons are eager to generate a relationship that will sustain the blessing by impartation and lay a foundation for the generations to come.
It is for this reason that Abraham separated with Lot. Abraham looked for a city whose builder and maker is God. Physical Canaan was a type of this.
When we fear the Lord, He reveals the secret things to us. Abraham got to know about the 400 years of slavery for Israel. This is as a result of being in the presence of God.
King David was not only a king but a prophet as well. He saw eternal things in the Spirit of Christ being enthroned in the Kingdom Age.
There is a blessing and then there is inhabitation. Ishmael got the former, Isaac got the latter. We need to endeavour for inhabitation.
Wisdom does not come to us unless we are in His presence. God can bless the works of your flesh to a certain degree but not with His presence.
The reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord is the beginning (the chief and choice part) of Wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight and understanding.
Proverbs 9:10 (AMPC)
The reverent fear and worship of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and skill [the preceding and the first essential, the prerequisite and the alphabet]; a good understanding, wisdom, and meaning have all those who do [the will of the Lord]. Their praise of Him endures forever.
Psalm 111:10 (AMPC)
The reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord is the beginning and the principal and choice part of knowledge [its starting point and its essence]; but fools despise skillful and godly wisdom, instruction, and discipline.
Proverbs 1:7 (AMPC)
The Lord wants us to ascend into the abode of His presence.
Sons of God look into the future, not just to themselves. They do not operate in types.
The 7 Spirits of God can only find expression in the context of God’s presence. God desires to inhabit you.
Rest is found in the presence of God. Rest is obeying the word of God.
People in rest hear wisdom. People in constant motion can only hear foolishness.
When you disobey, you are working without rest. Rest is not absence of activity but absence of anxiety. Seek ye first the Kingdom of God – this is rest.
But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides.
Matthew 6:33 (AMPC)
Set your mind on heavenly things.
If then you have been raised with Christ [to a new life, thus sharing His resurrection from the dead], aim at and seek the [rich, eternal treasures] that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. And set your minds and keep them set on what is above (the higher things), not on the things that are on the earth.
Colossians 3:1-2 (AMPC)
You do not become a son because you are qualified, but because you have matured.
God does not speak through voices but through a voice.
We only find peace and rest in the assignment that God has given you. #SELAH
What is your assignment in God? Are you still a hireling basically being in the wrong assignment?
If you negate the pattern that God has given you, you will fail big time!
Willingness to do only that which the Father says triggers grace in your life. Sons are busy about the Father’s business.
