Attentuating The Realms Of Factuality Through Covenant Relationship: Sermon By Rev. Loice Achola

God said, Let Us [Father, Son, and Holy Spirit] make mankind in Our image, after Our likeness, and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the [tame] beasts, and over all of the earth, and over everything that creeps upon the earth.

Genesis 1:26 (AMPC)

And the Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to tend and guard and keep it. And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, you may freely eat of every tree of the garden; But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and blessing and calamity you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die. Now the Lord God said, it is not good (sufficient, satisfactory) that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper (suitable, adapted, complementary) for him.

Genesis 2:15-18 (AMPC)

Attenuating means to reduce or lessen a signal.

In our case as believers, we need to reduce our ability to see things through facts and begin to see them through the perspective of covenant relationship with God.

The concept and idea of marriage should be the basis of every believer’s life.

Marriage is a type to teach us a divine reality. It shows us the heart position we should have toward each other where we submit one to another and to God.

When God looks at you, He is looking at your heart.

Marriage shows the heart position every believer should have – submitting one to another.

Marriage is about vision and purpose. Marriage is about submitting to a vision. God has a vision for all of us that we should submit to.

Your heart is what shows where you are at with God. Marriage is about heart-to-heart communication.

When we submit, God moulds us and causes us to have an understanding of Himself and ourselves.

It’s important to understand what vision you should submit to. You should not only submit to a vision but also live it. You must buy completely into it.

As the church is subject to Christ, so let wives also be subject in everything to their husbands. Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her, So that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the Word, That He might present the church to Himself in glorious splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such things [that she might be holy and faultless].

Ephesians 5:24-27 (AMPC)

We are the Bride of Christ.

At creation, Christ took it upon Himself to teach Adam about the functionality of manhood.

Manhood is not about gender but it’s about purpose. God is calling us to understand purpose.

It’s out of the impartation of the functionality of manhood that Adam was able to function.

Impartation happens in the context of relationship.

In the place of relationship and fellowship with God, God opens our eyes to purpose and to understand that which is reality beyond facts.

In our relationship with the Father, the impact of the facts of our existence are dulled and our eyes are open in the realm of the spirit.

Christ comes to impart in us what we need to be able to function.

What God does to us now is begin to take our eyes from the factual things to begin to see things from His view so we can see things the way He sees them.

This world is ruled by the prince of darkness. He has perpetuated lies that come in the form of facts. The world is full of lies. You need to come to God to ask Him even the simplest of things.

It is for this reason we need to protect the seed of the Word of God in our lives.

People lose their faith because they try to understand spiritual things with their own understanding.

The facts of our present reality impede our perception of truth.

Spiritual things are foolishness to them that are perishing. Trying to understand something without capturing God’s intention is futile. They are foolish because they don’t understand God.

God is saying anyone trying to transact with Him without understanding the intentions of the spirit will lose it.

You need to come to the place where you let go of everything you know and ask God.

Every man that has been imparted by Christ has the DNA of Christ.

You learn from the ultimate man (Christ) how to become a man. Christ begins to induct you into what it means to be a man.

The first account of creation shows that God brings you from a place of death to the place of life.

The second account shows that God goes through the details of your life doing a deep work in you to make you.

God has adopted you to be His son by giving you the ability to be a son. Being a son means God has built you.

You need to come out of a place of seeing things from the face value because people won’t understand and neither will you until God has accomplished His work in you.

Salvation is always about relationship. It is not about works. The more you abide in Him, the more He gives you a different set of rules to govern your life. We each have a unique divine pattern that guides our life.

It is possible for man to be totally united with God. Unity is a heart position.

There is always God’s way of doing things and the world’s way. The way to know God’s way is through relationship. You need to pursue Him.

God has different patterns for different people though the principles are the same.

God wants us to be at the place of stability in our relationship with Him.

Unity is not something we strive to become. It’s a heart position. Unity is about submitting to a reality that God has revealed to you.

It is true that He was chosen and foreordained (destined and foreknown for it) before the foundation of the world, but He was brought out to public view (made manifest) in these last days (at the end of the times) for the sake of you.

1 Peter 1:20 (AMPC)

God understands the human condition in a fallen world and through covenant relationship with God we are able to overcome the facts of our reality.

Christ is not limited by time. Even before Adam and Eve knew sin, He had already died for them.

The covenant you have with God will enable you to see beyond your limitations.

Abraham came out of the place of limitation – of seeing things from a factual point – to seeing with the eyes of faith.

God is the perfect person to minister to you because He understands you.

I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind (declare to be improper and unlawful) on earth must be what is already bound in heaven; and whatever you loose (declare lawful) on earth must be what is already loosed in heaven. Then He sternly and strictly charged and warned the disciples to tell no one that He was Jesus the Christ. From that time forth Jesus began [clearly] to show His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things at the hands of the elders and the high priests and scribes, and be killed, and on the third day be raised from death. Then Peter took Him aside to speak to Him privately and began to reprove and charge Him sharply, saying, God forbid, Lord! This must never happen to You! But Jesus turned away from Peter and said to him, Get behind Me, Satan! You are in My way [an offense and a hindrance and a snare to Me]; for you are minding what partakes not of the nature and quality of God, but of men.

Then Jesus said to His disciples, if anyone desires to be My disciple, let him deny himself [disregard, lose sight of, and forget himself and his own interests] and take up his cross and follow Me [cleave steadfastly to Me, conform wholly to My example in living and, if need be, in dying, also]. For whoever is bent on saving his [temporal] life [his comfort and security here] shall lose it [eternal life]; and whoever loses his life [his comfort and security here] for My sake shall find it [life everlasting]. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his life [his blessed [i]life in the kingdom of God]? Or what would a man give as an exchange for his [blessed] [life [in the kingdom of God]? For the Son of Man is going to come in the glory (majesty, splendor) of His Father with His angels, and then He will render account and reward every man in accordance with what he has done. Truly I tell you, there are some standing here who will not taste death before they see the Son of Man coming in (into) His kingdom.

Matthew 16:19-28 (AMPC)

Our pride can be our greatest impediment for God to move in our lives. Pride is refusing to align with what God thinks or desires.

To get God, you must be willing to submit to His ways. You must be willing to pay the price.

God covenants with us because He has a purpose He desires to achieve in and through us through relationship with Him.

God is asking for everything. Our covenants with God will only be effectual when we don’t hold back and realize it’s all or nothing.

Covenants are the institution of God.

And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.

Luke 1:38 (NKJV)

“Be it unto me according to your word” as Mary said when Angel Gabriel told her she would birth the Messiah is the foundation of covenant with God.

Now behold, one came and said to Him, “Good Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may have eternal life?” So He said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.” He said to Him, “Which ones?” Jesus said, “‘You shall not murder,’ ‘You shall not commit adultery,’ ‘You shall not steal,’ ‘You shall not bear false witness,’ ‘Honor your father and your mother,’ and, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ ”

The young man said to Him, “All these things I have kept from my youth. What do I still lack?” Jesus said to him, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.” But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.

Matthew 19:16-22 (NKJV)

The account of the rich young ruler shows us that he wanted to serve God but not with his riches.

God has no problem expanding you (financially and in every other area of your life) if your heart is in the right place.

For our covenant with God to be effectual, we must always be willing to give everything.

The Holy Spirit did not come so we can be perfect in our works. He came to cause us to amplify Christ in our lives and be sons just like Christ.

We must learn to covenant with God and to have our hearts be swift to saying – Yes Lord – to His thoughts of us and His instructions.

Every man must find out why God predestined him/her. There is a reason why the idea of you is necessary in this day and age.

The Holy Spirit is who enables to be sons of God. God is calling us to become more and more like Christ through us submitting to His Spirit.

Covenant is about agreement. We have to come to a place where we can always agree to what God is saying.

Who were chosen and foreknown by God the Father and consecrated (sanctified, made holy) by the Spirit to be obedient to Jesus Christ (the Messiah) and to be sprinkled with [His] blood: May grace (spiritual blessing) and peace be given you in increasing abundance [that spiritual peace to be realized in and through Christ] freedom from fears, agitating passions, and moral conflicts]. Praised (honored, blessed) be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah)! By His boundless mercy we have been born again to an ever-living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

[Born anew] into an inheritance which is beyond the reach of change and decay [imperishable], unsullied and unfading, reserved in heaven for you, Who are being guarded (garrisoned) by God’s power through [your] faith [till you fully inherit that final] salvation that is ready to be revealed [for you] in the last time. [You should] be exceedingly glad on this account, though now for a little while you may be distressed by trials and suffer temptations, So that [the genuineness] of your faith may be tested, [your faith] which is infinitely more precious than the perishable gold which is tested and purified by fire. [This proving of your faith is intended] to redound to [your] praise and glory and honor when Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One) is revealed. Without having seen Him, you love Him; though you do not [even] now see Him, you believe in Him and exult and thrill with inexpressible and glorious (triumphant, heavenly) joy.

1 Peter 1:2-8 (AMPC)

Covenanting with God causes one to be attuned to what the Father is doing.

God manifested you in this time because you have something that He wants you to show in this time. God wants us to understand our unique expressions.

Covenanting with God makes it easy for you to allow Him to work in your life. You will allow Him to lead and you will swiftly follow.

Covenants are not about you telling God what you will do for Him. They are about us agreeing with God. You need to understand what God has in store in every part of your life and agree to it.

Hannah moved from the place of limitation (her barrenness) to covenant with God’s intention for her to birth a prophet.

You cannot walk in the spirit without you agreeing with what the Spirit is saying. Covenanting with God entails seeing into the spirit and agreeing with it.

Foolishness is ignoring God and His basic instructions.

How God expects us to be able to covenant with Him is through prayer. As we pray, He will open our eyes to what He has ordained in the spirit.

Once you submit, you will walk into everything God has in store for you. Walking with God creates a domino effect in all areas of our lives.

Noah had never seen rain. He believed and lived to see a flood. In our walk with God, He will show us unsearchable things.

Moreover, the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah the second time, while he was still shut up in the court of the guard, saying, Thus says the Lord Who made [the earth], the Lord Who formed it to establish it—the Lord is His name: Call to Me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things, fenced in and hidden, which you do not know (do not distinguish and recognize, have knowledge of and understand).

Jeremiah 33:1-3 (AMPC)

You are unique.

But, on the contrary, as the Scripture says, what eye has not seen and ear has not heard and has not entered into the heart of man, [all that] God has prepared (made and keeps ready) for those who love Him [[a]who hold Him in affectionate reverence, promptly obeying Him and gratefully recognizing the benefits He has bestowed]. Yet to us God has unveiled and revealed them by and through His Spirit, for the [Holy] Spirit searches diligently, exploring and examining everything, even sounding the profound and bottomless things of God [the [b]divine counsels and things hidden and beyond man’s scrutiny]. For what person perceives (knows and understands) what passes through a man’s thoughts except the man’s own spirit within him? Just so no one discerns (comes to know and comprehend) the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.

1 Corinthians 2:9-11 (AMPC)

There is the place of surrender in prayer that starts to unlock the things God has for us.

The covenant you make with God is not just for you but for generations. The decisions you make will affect generations to come.

Your life springs from the covenant you are in.

Bishop Gobanga’s Addendum:

When you are in Christ it means you not only have the revelation of Christ but have embraced it till you have become one with it.

For in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also His offspring.’

Acts 17:28 (NKJV)

Out of the fullness of that which you have embraced, you live, move and have your being.

Facts are limited to time and space. Truth is the highest form of reality that moves beyond time and space.

Any time God reveals His truth to you, let that truth overshadow you so that the deposits of purpose vested in you begin to overflow.

When you become the truth that God has revealed to you, you are one with Him.

You cannot embrace truth when you still view things in the 3 dimensions.

The world will teach you to rationalize things and be logical. The mind was not given to be logical but to embrace truth. When you love truth, you become the truth you’ve loved and that is what will deliver you.
