Faith – The Culture Of Believers: Sermon By Minister Dennis Muthuri

People have faith but most think of faith as the principles they believe working in their lives at some point in their lives.

Believers have a notion that faith is a belief that the systems will eventually work instead of receiving faith and developing a culture of not exhibiting doubt and infirmity. We should have a culture of faith based on what we hear from God. Faith comes by hearing and hearing the word of God –  the invisible God.

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Romans 10:17 (KJV)

Many in the Body of Christ have focused on works and forget to focus on Christ and relationship.

Faith is multi-dimensional and encompasses more than a belief in what you can’t see. Faith is supposed to be a lifestyle.

Faith inspires divine energy to be ignited and to work within you to change circumstances and a place around you.

Faith inspires and activates divine energy found in the nature of God. When you begin to hear God, it should evoke a response to set one’s mind on things above and not below. As a result of hearing from God, the word of God empowers us to wait on what He spoke and our obedience-  which is an expression of our love for Him and informs us to live in line with that word.

When God’s word is spoken, it unveils God’s purpose and is an aspect of God’s divine nature.

Faith should be an expression of love and not just accessing something that you want to get. Faith is a culture of higher living that manifests when a set of Divine realities are accessed by believers.

Now faith is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses]. For by [faith – trust and holy fervor born of faith] the men of old had divine testimony borne to them and obtained a good report. By faith we understand that the worlds [during the successive ages] were framed (fashioned, put in order, and equipped for their intended purpose) by the word of God, so that what we see was not made out of things which are visible.

The breakthrough that you should pray for before others is for God to set ablaze your personal prayer altar so you can be an effective believer.

Diligently practicing the presence of God will energize your spirit man to rule and reign as a priest and king in the gates of society.

When you hear a word from God, you are able to birth things in the spirit.

It is the glory of God to conceal a thing, but the glory of kings is to search out a thing.

Proverbs 25:2 (AMPC)

Relationship will cause you to access things in your life (eg: a word from God that is a reality in seed form).

If you [really] love Me, you will keep (obey) My commands.

John 14:15 (AMPC)

Jesus answered, If a person [really] loves Me, he will keep My word [obey My teaching]; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home (abode, special dwelling place) with him.

John 14:23 (AMPC)

And this is how we may discern [daily, by experience] that we are coming to know Him [to perceive, recognize, understand, and become better acquainted with Him]: if we keep (bear in mind, observe, practice) His teachings (precepts, commandments).

The manifestation of a promise is like skin colour. It is automatic. We have trouble believing in automatic manifestation of the promises of God because we rely on sight. The culture of seeing to believe is what we are used to rather than a culture of relationship and trust.

We should desire others and brethren to thrive more than us because we are all connected. We need the lens and heart of relationship in life.Man was never supposed to exist outside of God and a relationship with Him.

A deep level of hearing/meditation on what God has spoken and practicing them creates a new way of living.The deep things of the Lord are accessed by they that seek him diligently. He reveals divine resource and mysteries to them.

Believers are to live on God’s spoken word.

And Jesus replied to him, It is written, Man shall not live and be sustained by (on) bread alone but by every word and expression of God.

Luke 4:4 (AMPC)

In a culture of trust, ebbing from belief, causes that there is a deeper relationship at play. It is in the context of relationship and oneness that the Lord commands a blessing.

Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!It is like the precious ointment poured on the head, that ran down on the beard, even the beard of Aaron [the first high priest], that came down upon the collar and skirts of his garments [consecrating the whole body]. It is like the dew of [lofty] Mount Hermon and the dew that comes on the hills of Zion; for there the Lord has commanded the blessing, even life forevermore [upon the high and the lowly].

Psalm 133 :1-3 (AMPC)

Godlessness reigns when man chooses to uphold the physical and perpetuates principles void of God and His statutes. Just as God prepares people for His work, the devil prepares people for his work. The highest level of carnality is ideologies and belief systems that are anti-God.

A principality is a set of ideas/beliefs ruling through a spirit.

Now the mind of the flesh [which is sense and reason without the Holy Spirit] is death [death that comprises all the miseries arising from sin, both here and hereafter]. But the mind of the [Holy] Spirit is life and [soul] peace [both now and forever]. [That is] because the mind of the flesh [with its carnal thoughts and purposes] is hostile to God, for it does not submit itself to God’s Law; indeed it cannot.

This is why our weapons of battle as believers are not carnal. Everything that is carnal is limited in expression.

The antidote to every kind of warfare is having faith in God’s voice.

At the prayer altar, your mind is renewed. Truth is the highest form of reality. It enables us to see the things that the Lord has in store for us. Truth causes man to revise his ambition to align to the heart and mind of God as the most lasting ambition. His will becomes the will of God. 

Working on your salvation with fear and trembling causes you to practice the beliefs and instructions you have received from God.

Worship is the structure to practice our faith with fear and trembling.

Where are the Elijahs in our generation and in our gates of society who will silence the armies of darkness by displaying the power of the one true God?
