The Throne Of God: Part 1 | INFEMI Sermon By Bishop Gobanga

The Throne Of God: Part 1: Sermon By Bishop Gobanga

Clouds and darkness are round about Him [as at Sinai]; righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne.

Psalm 97:2 (AMPC)

The mystery of being in Christ teaches us about our identity and position in Christ. Our identity determines how we walk in God and our access in God. We struggle with our walk in God because we do not understand who we are and the access we have in God.

When you know your identity, you have the power to transform your life. You may not transform anything in the past but you can transform things in the future.

Being human means you are a spirit being and you have an identity which is derived from Christ.

Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!

2 Corinthians 5:17 (AMPC)

The name the Lord Jesus Christ speaks of a function. He is designated as the Son of God because of purpose. He is the Son of God seated at the right hand of the Father. He has all authority and power that He has in turn given to us. It is for this reason, we seek first the kingdom of God.

When we say Jesus is Lord, we are submitting to His character. Christ comes from the Greek word Kristos. Messiah is Hebrew meaning the Anointed One.

Identity is the reservoir of power. A powerful person is someone anchored in their identity. Destiny is locked up in identity. Identity abides and remains regardless of time and season. Your destiny is locked up in your identity not in your gifts or talents.

When someone dies, they are referred to as “the late”. Their identity is still there. Their legacy lives on. We remember people by what they did when alive after they die.

For you to serve the purposes of God in your generation, you need to know who you are. Destiny understands one thing – identity. When you walk in your identity, destiny calls.

Challenges are meant for one to show up. Goliath was born to reveal David as a warrior-king. Problems come to reveal who we are. We are to think of solutions to problems instead of complaining.

You can’t release power outside of identity. God operates in the continuum of His identity. His ways are from everlasting to everlasting. He is unchanging. He is the high and lofty One.

Authority comprises the elements of identity. To understand authority, define identity. When you know your identity you don’t have to prove anything to anyone.

Strength is vested in character. Strength can only manifest in the spirit of character. Character is a factor of one’s posture.

God is not a name. It is a reflection of His attributes. To be in Christ is to be in the anointing for He is the Anointed One. We are walking in sonship through His Lordship as we identify with the anointing in Him. God wants us to come to a place where Jesus is Lord and not just Saviour.

The throne of one’s life is the heart – the locus of one’s personality. As long as the heart is not yielded to the Lord, one is not under the Lordship of the Lord. His government is not yet in place. He wants to have Lordship over your mind, heart and will. He wants to establish righteousness and justice in our lives. This way we will impact the gates with His government.

We need to come to the place where one’s life is dethroned and Christ enthroned. God wants us to be under His Lordship and where we are fully submitted to Him and where His righteousness reigns.

A throne is a posture and a position. It is progressive and not static. From infinity to infinity. A throne is not a physical thing. It generates from eternity to eternity. It is the supernatural posture of who He is. Who God is is inexhaustible. A person you cannot figure out and can’t defeat.

The preaching of the Cross is an offence to the Greeks and a mystery unto the Jews and to us that are being saved salvation.

God operates in ways that are unexpected. When we are in Christ Jesus, we enter into the anointing of the Son.

One needs to walk in submission to the Lord. The anointing gives you a position to express you identity. Being in Christ Jesus calls us to a high level of relationship in Him.

But you have been anointed by [you hold a sacred appointment from, you have been given an unction from] the Holy One, and you all know [the Truth] or you know all things.

1 John 2:20 (AMPC)

Operating in the anointing shields one from attacks.

Authority gives access to favour from a higher power. Submitting is not subjugation but an access to a higher power. When a woman submits to a man that is in Christ, she gets access to function via a higher power in Christ. She expresses herself in her identity.  When both submit, it is not them that live but Christ living in them both. This is the mystery of marriage.

Submitting to Christ gives us the privilege to walk in the anointing. It is one thing for the anointing to come upon you but another thing all together to dwell in the anointing. These are the kind of people that do all things through Christ who strengthens them.

Spiritual cover is the anointing of the minister that comes from the Lord Jesus and not the person of the minister just to strike a balance. When Christ is exalted, he draws men unto them. A Minister of God projects the anointing of Christ. We submit to spiritual covering based on the anointing.

Being  a new creation refers to one who is mature and can be entrusted with responsibility. When you walk in the anointing, you get transformed inside out and are transfigured.

Transfiguration also happened in the Old Testament.

Moses was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights; he ate no bread and drank no water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments. When Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tables of the Testimony in his hand, he did not know that the skin of his face shone and sent forth beams by reason of his speaking with the Lord.

When Aaron and all the Israelites saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone, and they feared to come near him.But Moses called to them; and Aaron and all the leaders of the congregation returned to him, and [he] talked with them. Afterward all the Israelites came near, and he gave them in commandment all the Lord had said to him in Mount Sinai. And when Moses had finished speaking with them, he put a veil on his face.

 Exodus 34:28-33 (AMPC)

Moses partook the very nature of God. Whatsoever you behold, you become. Behold I do a new thing! Moses saw the Glory of God and he became glorious.

Behold, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs forth; do you not perceive and know it and will you not give heed to it? I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. The beasts of the field honor Me, the jackals and the ostriches, because I give waters in the wilderness and rivers in the desert, to give drink to My people, My chosen, the people I formed for Myself, that they may set forth My praise [and they shall do it].

Isaiah 43:19-21 (AMPC)

Whatever you behold and embrace becomes the expression of your nature. Whenever you engage with God, He becomes your source of supply.

Ezekiel saw 4 beings in the presence of God.

In the Aramaic translation, Moses took on one character of God. When he came down from Sinai, the people feared him.

God said, Let Us [Father, Son, and Holy Spirit] make mankind in Our image, after Our likeness, and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the [tame] beasts, and over all of the earth, and over everything that creeps upon the earth

Genesis 1:26 (AMPC)

Adam was made in the image of God that allowed for fellowship with the Divine. When they fell, the glory lifted and they were evicted from Eden.

We will be glorified when He comes. We were created in the image and likeness of God after His image and likeness. We are to manifest the faces of God.

When He comes to be glorified in His saints [on that day He will be made more glorious in His consecrated people], and [He will] be marveled at and admired [in His glory reflected] in all who have believed [who have adhered to, trusted in, and relied on Him], because our witnessing among you was confidently accepted and believed [and confirmed in your lives].

2 Thessalonians 1:10 (AMPC)

Moses was able to write the Torah – a history that covered 400 years – in 40 days. He was in the heavens and was shown things in the heavenlies.  He was shown the pattern of the Tabernacle and how the Lord wanted it built. He underwent a transformation by being  in God’s presence. He wrote the books of the Law in the mountain of things past. He ascended into the Heavens and saw how the sanctuary should be built.

We need to spend time in the presence of God to get blueprints of the things that the Lord wants done on the face of the Earth.

As for the likeness of their faces, they each had the face of a man [in front], and each had the face of a lion on the right side and the face of an ox on the left side; the four also had the face of an eagle [at the back of their heads].

Ezekiel 1:10 (AMPC)

Moses experienced transformation that couldn’t be contained and was manifest because of revelation, wisdom, knowledge and understanding.

When wisdom, knowledge and understanding are made manifest, the carnal man must die.

The faces of God are revelation, wisdom, understanding and knowledge. These four are access to power that transform us. The Lord desires that we are transfigured. He wants to expose us to who He is.

Righteousness is God’s holiness in action. The throne of God comprises who He is. We are constituents of God’s throne because we are made in His image and likeness. Christ is the Head while the Church is the Body.

May He grant you out of the rich treasury of His glory to be strengthened and reinforced with mighty power in the inner man by the [Holy] Spirit [Himself indwelling your innermost being and personality]. May Christ through your faith [actually] dwell (settle down, abide, make His permanent home) in your hearts!

May you be rooted deep in love and founded securely on love, that you may have the power and be strong to apprehend and grasp with all the saints [God’s devoted people, the experience of that love] what is the breadth and length and height and depth [of it]; [That you may really come] to know [practically, through experience for yourselves] the love of Christ, which far surpasses mere knowledge [without experience]; that you may be filled [through all your being] unto all the fullness of God [may have the richest measure of the divine Presence, and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself]!

Now to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams]—To Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever.Amen (so be it).

Ephesians 3:16-21 (AMPC)

The place of transfiguration allows to partake of divine nature.

For His divine power has bestowed upon us all things that [are requisite and suited] to life and godliness, through the [full, personal] knowledge of Him Who called us by and to His own glory and excellence (virtue). By means of these He has bestowed on us His precious and exceedingly great promises, so that through them you may escape [by flight] from the moral decay (rottenness and corruption) that is in the world because of covetousness (lust and greed), and become sharers (partakers) of the divine nature.

2 Peter 1:3-4 (AMPC)

The transfiguration allows us to bear glory for our assignment in our generation. God wants us to come to a place where we are not only transformed but also transfigured in His presence. When we allow Christ to be enthroned, we can go to dark places and demonic powers flee. In identity, solutions are vested.

Creation awaiting the manifestation of sons of God i.e. people who know their identity. The Devil is scared because of one’s identity. When we are in Christ, we are believers. No tribes or race  exist.

God allows circumstances to surround us to call us to a place where we walk in our expression of our identity.

Truth is composite of revelation, understanding, knowledge and wisdom. Truth is the highest form of reality.

It is very hard to hear God when you are bitter and full of unforgiveness.
