The Sons Of Manifestation (Part 1): Sermon By Bishop Gobanga

For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For [the Spirit which] you have now received [is] not a spirit of slavery to put you once more in bondage to fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption [the Spirit producing sonship] in [the bliss of] which we cry, Abba (Father)! Father!

The Spirit Himself [thus] testifies together with our own spirit, [assuring us] that we are children of God. And if we are [His] children, then we are [His] heirs also: heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ [sharing His inheritance with Him]; only we must share His suffering if we are to share His glory. [But what of that?] For I consider that the sufferings of this present time (this present life) are not worth being compared with the glory that is about to be revealed to us and in us and for us and conferred on us!

For [even the whole] creation (all nature) waits expectantly and longs earnestly for God’s sons to be made known [waits for the revealing, the disclosing of their sonship]. For the creation (nature) was subjected to frailty (to futility, condemned to frustration), not because of some intentional fault on its part, but by the will of Him Who so subjected it—[yet] with the hope that nature (creation) itself will be set free from its bondage to decay and corruption [and gain an entrance] into the glorious freedom of God’s children.

Romans 8:14-21 (AMPC)

You cannot become a true son of God unless the orphan nature inside of you has been deprogrammed by fatherhood.

It only takes the principle of fatherhood for an orphan to tap into the nature and experience that will cause them to attain to sonship. It also takes submission to fatherhood. The principle of fatherhood causes one to tap into the nature of God that makes one a true son.

The devil has made false ministers mutilate the meaning of sonship for commercial purposes. Fatherhood is a spiritual principle.

Sonship is not automatic. It is neither male nor female. It is spirit. There is a difference between sons and children.

Sonship is a matter of attainment and it comes with the privilege of authority and relationship with God.

Sons effect the fulfilment of God’s purpose.

The highest position in the Kingdom of God is the position of a son. It is a position given to every one of us. It is not for a select few.

From Genesis to Revelation, God’s agenda is to have sons steward His creation. He’s looking for sons. Sons have attained to the fullness of maturity.

In these last days, the purposes of God will be fulfilled by sons.

When God appears in the fullness of time, perfection will appear.

It isn’t what you do but who you are as a son and your identity that will destroy the vestiges of darkness on creation.

And not only the creation, but we ourselves too, who have and enjoy the firstfruits of the [Holy] Spirit [a foretaste of the blissful things to come] groan inwardly as we wait for the redemption of our bodies [from sensuality and the grave, which will reveal] our adoption (our manifestation as God’s sons).

Romans 8:23 (AMP)

You and I will never be clothed with a glorified body like that of Christ until our carnal nature has died and been morally delivered. The precursor to having the glorified body like Christ is having an inner nature conformed to the Spirit. It is our inner nature that God calls to salvation.

Do not be deceived and deluded and misled; God will not allow Himself to be sneered at (scorned, disdained, or mocked by mere pretensions or professions, or by His precepts being set aside.) [He inevitably deludes himself who attempts to delude God.] For whatever a man sows, that and that only is what he will reap. For he who sows to his own flesh (lower nature, sensuality) will from the flesh reap decay and ruin and destruction, but he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.

Galatians 6:7-8 (AMP)

Until the inner man is aligned to Christ, we will continue to be self-willed rebellious to Divine mandate.

Our inner nature has been borne of God. Our outward form must be adopted by being redeemed from spiritual death by being filled with the Spirit of God.

Your inner man will need to be renewed. Otherwise, you will remain self-willed.

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV)

Creation is waiting for the manifestation of the sons of God but God is not interested in us thinking we will be changed into mighty rulers with great power and glory.

The move of God is not there so you can only experience God but to reveal who you are inwardly. When God appears, our outward nature will reveal who we are inside.

Sonship is not about titles or reputation but about Godly character. One mark of sonship is humility.

True sons of God take heed of prophetic counsel.

Submission to God is structured. God has ordained authority in every aspect of life be it governance, family or work.

It is wrong for us to occupy ourselves with the external without cultivating growth in our innermost nature. This impedes the entering of the kingdom of God in your life.

To be born again is to have the mind of Christ and a transformed heart.

When the Bible speaks of the Abrahamic blessing, it is not material. It is the Holy Spirit. He is the greatest and most absolute investment of God in us.

In blessing I will bless you and in multiplying I will multiply your descendants like the stars of the heavens and like the sand on the seashore. And your Seed (Heir) will possess the gate of His enemies, and in your Seed [Christ] shall all the nations of the earth be blessed and [by Him] bless themselves, because you have heard and obeyed My voice. 

Genesis 22:17-18 (AMP)

Jesus is the seed while the Holy Spirit is the fruit and the One that conducts us to sonship. We need to be filled and led of the Holy Spirit.

And if you belong to Christ [are in Him Who is Abraham’s Seed], then you are Abraham’s offspring and [spiritual] heirs according to promise. 

Galatians 3:29 (AMPC)

To the end that through [their receiving] Christ Jesus, the blessing [promised] to Abraham might come upon the Gentiles, so that we through faith might [all] receive [the realization of] the promise of the [Holy] Spirit. 

Galatians 3:14 (AMPC)

The reason why creation is in disorder is because the Holy Spirit departed from Eden. He hovered over the shapeless and void creation.

Being full of the Holy Spirit enables us to be of service to people. 

And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

Romans 5:5 (KJV)

When you have the Spirit of God, you will have His counsel to help you know how to handle things.

God wants to restore to us in Christ Jesus what we lost through the disobedience of Adam and Eve.

The Tree of Life in the Garden of Eden is Christ. He is the life-giving Spirit full of God and life without measure.

The elect of God, those filled with the Spirit of God, need to lay down their lives so they can be an extension of the Giver of life (Christ). A son is an extension of the life-giving Spirit of Christ.

To be revealed as a son of God, submit to the dealings of the Holy Spirit. It is not the sons of Adam that will be revealed. It is the sons of God that will be revealed.

Our hope must be in the Lord. Not in a country, material things or a career. There are things money cannot give you.

If we are going to bring the blessing of the Spirit of God into the world, we need to be sons of God.

We are to grow up and mature in the faith until we are led of the Spirit of God.

Jesus is the Saviour and the Christ meaning the Anointed One. This denoted His nature and assignment. Jesus was the Son of God in a positional way when He was born but God the Father needed to proclaim it.

I will declare the decree of the Lord: He said to Me, You are My Son; this day [I declare] I have begotten You.

 Psalms 2:7 (AMP)

Sonship is a proclamation that creation, principalities and powers have something new to reckon with.

Christ (denoting His nature and assignment) is the only one that God has given the nations as an inheritance.

Sonship and inheritance are implicit and connected. There is an authority in expressing the rule of God on earth.

Yet have I anointed (installed and placed) My King [firmly] on My holy hill of Zion.

Psalms 2:6 (AMP)

This is another decree about Christ as the Son and King that God spoke prophetically through David.

Sonship is all about ruling and reigning with God. It’s also kingship.

 I will declare the decree: the Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.

Psalms 2:7 (KJV)

The day here is when Jesus was raised from the dead and ascended into heaven. Abraham saw this day and rejoiced. This is the moment of proclamation that was proceeded by extreme humiliation on the cross. The proclamation was on a son, not a baby.

When Jesus Christ was raised from the dead, He ascended to heaven fulfilling the Father’s proclamation.

A man of authority ascends to the throne. It is the authority of maturity that qualifies you to rule.

And [as to His divine nature] according to the Spirit of holiness was openly designated the Son of God in power [in a striking, triumphant and miraculous manner] by His resurrection from the dead, even Jesus Christ our Lord (the Messiah, the Anointed One). 

Romans 1:4 (AMP)

Jesus was declared so because power could be entrusted to the one who has no power or purpose in and of himself but that of God the Father.

A son lives to do the will of His Father. Sons are the only ones that can be trusted with the word of the Father and with the Father’s authority.

It is the Holy Spirit that works in us both to will and do the will of God. Only Christ was able to do the will of God in the authority of the Father. Do you have the authority of God to do the things that you are doing?

A son is one who is obedient to the will of the Father. A mature person distills things and is not commanded.  They do not need to be shouted at.

A son will always intimate the Father’s will. They will catch it in the spirit.

Sons go beyond outward performance to inward change. They go beyond external behavioural conformance of patterns; theirs is an internal shift first.

Sons exhibit the very nature and character of Christ Himself. They decrease so Jesus increases in them.

Sons do not wait for commandments from God but capture the heart and mind of God. They do not live by the 10 commandments. Sons of God are not consumed by law-keeping, but the love of God and their neighbour (1 John 3 & 4). When you love the Lord, you will not disobey God.

For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.

Sonship is a spirit phenomenon. It is obtained by relationship. You can only exercise sonship through the Holy Spirit.

To be Spirit-led you must be sensitive to the wooings and promptings of the Holy Spirit and depend on the Holy Spirit. This will bring you into conflict with your logic.

Your past walk with God has no relevance if you are not walking in the fruit of the same. This is the fruit of character, love and holiness, not just words.

If our testimonies do not testify of who we are inward, it is useless.

Your painful experiences or good experiences should never define your present or future.

It is dangerous to act on the basis of what you think is right or your reasoning. Every season needs you to grow to a higher place of dependency on God.

Whatever is not borne of the Spirit will not birth life or the Spirit in you.

Jesus was begotten the day He was raised from the dead by the power and glory of God. It was the acceptance of His sacrifice.

Jesus was raised to a place of governmental authority as the Christ.

“You are My Son, My Beloved! In You I am well pleased and find delight!” 

Luke 3:22b (AMP)

The Father spoke this of Jesus. Baptism is a type of death and resurrection. It is a proclamation to not be independent of the will of God. It means death to reputation or anything that glorifies self.

Jesus divorced Himself of any fulfillment devoid of God. His life after baptism was in total dependence to God and for the glory of God. He brought His entire manhood into death so as to please God. Only sons have the Father’s good pleasure.
