The Kingdom Of God: Sermon By Rev. Richard Muendo
In the former account [which I prepared], O Theophilus, I made [a continuous report] dealing with all the things which Jesus began to do and to teach until the day when He ascended, after He through the Holy Spirit had instructed and commanded the apostles (special messengers) whom He had chosen.
To them also He showed Himself alive after His passion (His suffering in the garden and on the cross) by [a series of] many convincing demonstrations [unquestionable evidences and infallible proofs], appearing to them during forty days and talking [to them] about the things of the kingdom of God.
And while being in their company and eating with them, He commanded them not to leave Jerusalem but to wait for what the Father had promised, Of which [He said] you have heard Me speak. For John baptized with water, but not many days from now you shall be baptized with (placed in, introduced into) the Holy Spirit. So when they were assembled, they asked Him, Lord, is this the time when You will reestablish the kingdom and restore it to Israel?
He said to them, It is not for you to become acquainted with and know [what time brings [the things and events of time and their definite periods] or fixed years and seasons (their critical niche in time), which the Father has appointed (fixed and reserved) by His own choice and authority and personal power. But you shall receive power (ability, efficiency, and might) when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be My witnesses in Jerusalem and all Judea and Samaria and to the ends (the very bounds) of the earth.
Acts 1:1-8 (AMPC)
The Kingdom of God is a fundamental aspect of life. It is a heart-based belonging to a lifestyle in a dimension of existence whose entrance is not a guarantee of staying.
Before Jesus ascended, He spoke to His disciples about the kingdom but they lacked understanding.
The reality of the Kingdom of God is not gained through knowledge alone. The sovereignty of God is a reality that goes beyond comprehension. It’s manifested in your life.
To understand the Kingdom of God, you must understand the sovereignty of God.
Just because you enter the dimension of the Spirit, does not mean you will remain in it. It is not through works that we belong to the Kingdom of God. You can’t use your works to determine your belonging and citizenship in the Kingdom of God.
Without your citizenship in the Kingdom, your relevance is only for a time.
The Kingdom of God is discerned and accessed through your heart. You can’t hide the true intentions of your heart. The Kingdom of God has a heart-based relationship and communion with the King and other citizens. The church of today has forgotten the place of heart to heart communion.
Perception is no longer terrestrial but celestial. If you do not have a celestial perception, you will become tied down with the perception of others.
Perception is not sensual. It’s based on the transactions of the heart. The gauge of works is not in the terrestrial realm but in the decisions of your heart. God cannot rebuke actions, intentions and decisions that are not resident in your heart.
Your mere running towards difficulty doesn’t qualify your faith.
Consider it wholly joyful, my brethren, whenever you are enveloped in or encounter trials of any sort or fall into various temptations. Be assured and understand that the trial and proving of your faith bring out endurance and steadfastness and patience.
James 1:2-3 (AMPC)
The entrance of faith is not the same as the testing of it. The entrance of faith is based on the voice of God.
Faith is birthed outside of circumstances but is perfected in circumstances. Endurance is perfected faith through terrestrial trials.
Faith is birthed outside of process but perfected in the context of process.
The true decision of your heart is the alignment of your person in a given direction.
Don’t hide behind your weaknesses as a platform to sin.
Your identity in the Kingdom gives you a unique access point in the Spirit that determines what facet of truth ministers to you.
Mercy taken for granted is your death sentence. Mercy is meant to bring you to repentance.
You can access the Kingdom of God but never achieve acceptance by God. God at the end of the ages will say “Depart from me for I do not know you”.
A project-based and activity-based lifestyle will make you a squatter in the afterglow dimensions of God. Activity-based lifestyle finds solace in motion instead of rest in God.
Being in step with the Spirit of God is you being constantly in the flow of the River of God.
Your identity is the basis on which you keep in step with the Spirit of God. It is an access point that generates a one-time access to the locale and purpose of God in your life each and every day.
Rest does not mean stop. It means glory in God.
The four part analysis of the apostolic and prophetic move of God in the end times:
- Disrupters – they have their prophetic stride on the basis of their identities.
- Founders- they begin to exude prophetic purpose based on the revelation given to the disrupters.
- Builders – they grow and build the building in light of their predecessors; they have a multiplication ability.
- Sons of promise- they keep and occupy the promise until Christ comes.
Distruption requires surrender. It’s not an action-based life of man but a death-based response. You can’t disrupt in your strength.
Disruption is a constant confrontation of the systems of the world that you are constantly faced with.
Identity is a prerequisite for disrupters.
Disruption is wind-like. It’s not meant to focus on the people doing it but on the move of the Spirit.
Disruption is meant to tear down the pattern of worship in the Church and build on the blueprint of God.
The time for manifestation of sons is determined on the perfection of their faith. Faith is perfected on the basis of the decisions of your heart.
The perfection of a son’s faith is based on their endurance in light of process.
Confidence to face circumstances and situations is based on what God has spoken.
A wounded, bitter, angry son can’t endure process.
Identity is the access point of everything in your life that pertains to your life and godliness.
The breath of God in your life cripples the terrestrial expressions that will glorify man and builds on the expressions that glorify of God.
The position that God speaks to sons is from a position of all possibilities. He speaks from fulfillment.
Without love, faith is impossible. You can’t have faith in someone you do not love.
The first level of hearing for a son is the dimension of hearing from the realm where God speaks. The second dimension of hearing is the realm of hearing based on your identity.
The confidence of walking in the word of God in your life is from the trust you have in God.
In the Kingdom of God, you can’t be without identity.
God does not speak to a limited man. He speaks to the man in second heavens, to the man of dominion. He capacitates you to walk in that which He has spoken to express it on earth.
Whatever God has spoken is already accomplished. It’s your responsibility to bring to earth what is accomplished in heaven.
The greatest sins that tie down the disrupters are the sins that attack their identity.
Sexual perversion keeps you sensual and limited in your perception.
The temptations of the disrupters are at the place of their identity. Disrupters are meant to be guarded at the place of their identity.
The other snare of the disrupters is the fear of man. It’s a crippling disease.
But you [Jeremiah], gird up your loins! Arise and tell them all that I command you. Do not be dismayed and break down at the sight of their faces, lest I confound you before them and permit you to be overcome.
Jeremiah 1:17 (AMPC)
There are certain levels of humiliation that are meant to deal with the fear of man in sons to birth the spiritual man in sons.
That night the Lord said to Gideon take your father’s bull, the second bull seven years old, and pull down the altar of Baal that your father has and cut down the Asherah [ symbol of the goddess Asherah] that is beside it; and build an altar to the Lord your God on top of the stronghold with stones laid in proper order. Then take the second bull and offer a burnt sacrifice with the wood of the Asherah which you shall cut down.
Then Gideon took ten men of his servants and did as the Lord had told him, but because he was too afraid of his father’s household and the men of the city to do it by day, he did it by night.
Judges 6:25-27 (AMPC)
Identity is a critical component for any disrupter.
Disrupters needs to guard their heart and mind. Even though they may find entrance into the Kingdom, their acceptance is based on their lifestyle.
