Rebellion: The Beguiler Within | INFEMI Sermon By Rev. Loice Achola

Rebellion – The Beguiler Within: Sermon By Rev. Loice Achola

How you have fallen from heaven morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations!

You said in your heart, “I will ascend to the heavens; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of Mount Zaphon. I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.”

But you are brought down to the realm of the dead, to the depths of the pit.

Isaiah 14:12-15 (ESV)

Where you are today is not where you are meant to be.

You must begin to learn who you are in the thing God has called you.

Rebellion creeps up within you in the most unexpected times.

Rebellion began with Lucifer.

But you are brought down to the realm of the dead, to the depths of the pit.

Isaiah 14:15 (ESV)

Rebellion begins with ”I”. It is very confident.

Rebellion is very seductive. It will make you feel that you are okay but you are not okay.

Part of the rebellion begins with comparing yourself to others.

Submission is an attitude of the heart.

When you don’t deal with rebellion, it will capture you and destroy you.

Consider that there is something in your heart that you don’t understand. Something that if you allow God to handle, it will revolutionize your life.

The flesh is a bad ruler of your life. It will rule and destroy you.

When you allow God to lead you, the flesh cannot oppose and defeat the power of God.

We are not a defeated people. We have the power in God to fight rebellion which comes from the flesh.

When you allow the spirit man in you to reign, you will be able to partner with God to guide you and you won’t have to contend with the flesh.

The only way to actualize rhema word is through the Spirit of God.

We will not reach to the place God has called us if we have not dealt with the rebellion in our hearts.

Rebellion begins as a simple thought and it broods in your heart and becomes the sin of rebellion.

As a community, we will wrong one another but we cannot allow unforgiveness to brood in our hearts.

Anytime before rebellion takes place God will tell you as He did to Cain.

We cannot take the grace of God for granted.

The agenda of rebellion in your life is you destroy you.

Rebellion makes you think that you and God are equals.

God is not interested in the things you give Him. He is interested in who you are. God is interested in your heart. He is after your heart. God is looking to see if my heart is okay with Him.

Abel’s sacrifice was accepted because he offered it in faith. Anything done outside of faith is sin.

But Saul and the people spared Agag and the best of the sheep and of the oxen and of the fattened calves and the lambs, and all that was good, and would not utterly destroy them. All that was despised and worthless they devoted to destruction.

1 Samuel 15:9 (ESV)

With rebellion you choose what you will surrender to God and what you won’t give to God.

Rebellion says – I will make my own rules in this journey of faith.

Rebellion makes you choose what you take from God and what you leave. A lot of us are doing things our own way without the guidance of the Spirit of God.

And Samuel rose early to meet Saul in the morning. And it was told Samuel, “Saul came to Carmel, and behold, he set up a monument for himself and turned and passed on and went down to Gilgal.”

1 Samuel 15:12 (ESV)

Rebellion tells you that you have done well even when the Lord is displeased with you.

And Samuel came to Saul, and Saul said to him, “Blessed be you to the Lord. I have performed the commandment of the Lord.”

1 Samuel 15:13 (ESV)

Rebellion looks like obedience to the person who is under the spirit of rebellion.

Saul said, “They have brought them from the Amalekites, for the people spared the best of the sheep and of the oxen to sacrifice to the Lord your God, and the rest we have devoted to destruction.”

1 Samuel 15:15 (ESV)

At the heart of rebellion is a person who does not acknowledge God as Lord over their life. Rebellion comes from a place of not understanding who God is.

You have wearied the Lord with your words. But you say, “How have we wearied him?” By saying, “Everyone who does evil is good in the sight of the Lord, and he delights in them.” Or by asking, “Where is the God of justice?”

Malachi 2:17 (ESV)

The enemy cannot influence anything in your life unless you allow him to.

But the people took of the spoil, sheep and oxen, the best of the things devoted to destruction, to sacrifice to the Lord your God in Gilgal.”

1 Samuel 15:21 (ESV)

Rebellion springs up because of refusing to walk in the identity God has given you. Anyone who rejects their identity is rebellious.

You cannot achieve things in your own ways.

Rebellion looks like freedom, and it makes you mock those who are in obedience because it seems foolish.
