Winning The Battle Of Your Destiny: Sermon By Bishop Mulumbi

Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh! 

Matthew 18:7 (KJV)

If you do not understand the meaning of the definition of words you cannot to live within their limits. You will always miss out because you do not know what they mean.

Destiny is not a place. It is a journey that carries purposes, missions and intentions of God that He has ordained for you to be able fulfill in your life on the earth.

Destiny is a journey that carries opportunities that God has ordained for you to be able to become, have and to do what God has ordained you to do. 

The destiny of every man is connected to his identity. So if the devil can mess up with your identity he will mess up with your destiny.

The greatest battle of a man born of a woman is the battle for his destiny. The negative/painful/hurtful/wrong things that happen to you are not after you. They are after your destiny.

The devil tries to change you through the wrong things that you have experienced because he knows that if he changes you then he changes your destiny. Because your destiny is connected to your identity.

The battle of your destiny is the battle for your heart. If the devil cannot change you, if he cannot mess up your heart, he cannot mess up with your destiny.

There are two spirits in the world now that are trying to destroy the Church: the spirit of deception and the spirit of offence.

We are living in a time where everyone in Church is offended.

The devil knows that if he can destroy your heart, he can destroy your destiny.

Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

Proverbs 4:23 (KJV)

Life does not come from outside of you, it comes from within you. Life does not come from the things that you have, but life comes from within you.

If the cistern of life within you is destroyed then you’ve got no life. You are just a person going through the motions. There is no advancement, no growth, no progress.

When the devil wants to bring calamity to the world or to destroy lives or nations, he releases the spirit of offence. Nations have gone to war because of offence. In Kenya, tribes have gone to war with each other because of offence.

Offence comes by things spoken, or things assumed to have been spoken against you, your relationships, your job, people that you care about, etc. Offence also comes by things done or assumed to have been done.

Many, many people suffer offence right from their early years on the earth.

The devil uses your environment, the people in your life, for example your parents, the people around you to mess up with you. He knows that if he can destroy you, he shall put you in a bondage of offence, and from here he is able to control your life, cause calamity and destruction on your journey of life, destroy everything marked with your name; ultimately tampering with your destiny because he’ll transform you into someone else.

God created you in His Image. Image means attributes and the qualities that are in a person. God created you with attributes and the qualities that are in Him, that for as long as you maintain them, you’ll be able to fulfill your destiny. The devil comes to destroy that which God put in you that makes you who you are and should he succeed, then he is able to mess up with your destiny.

When someone comes under the bondage of offence, he becomes an offence himself. He becomes an instrument of destruction.

We cannot fulfill our destiny until we deal with the offence rooted in our hearts.

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour. 

1 Peter 5:8 (KJV)

To be sober means that you are not intoxicated, not drunk. A man that is drunk cannot be watchful [vigilant].

Offence causes people to be drunk. Drunk on bitterness, anger, resentment, unforgiveness, etc.

95% of the people in the Church are not sober.

When you are not sober, you cannot be watchful.

When you are not sober, you cannot make decisions that are right. Every choice and decision that you make is made because of an influence.

When become offended, you become emotionally sick.

When people are offended as they grow, or when they are offended by something, they lose the ability to trust. 

Every church assembly is struggling because people are carrying offence. And because they have been changed by the offence that they are carrying, people have stopped being loving towards fellow brethren and have become hateful.

Everything that you see is a manifestation of something that has been done. Every reaction that a human being has is a manifestation of something that has been done to them in their life.

When the devil brings offence into your life, he channels your energy in the wrong direction.

Sometimes the rebellion in the house of God is because of things that we have not addressed.

Offended people are very dangerous people. These are people under the bondage of offence. Offended people have lost trust [are mistrustful] and are often suspicious of people.

If you do not address your past, it will follow you into your future. This is why hopping churches is not the answer to the offence that you are carrying. It does not matter the church assembly that you move to. If you do not address the offence in your heart, you will soon look to leave.

Destroyed hearts always destroy their next place of opportunity. 

Joseph [Genesis 37 – 50] was established and able to walk in high levels of access even though he suffered much on his journey to the life [his destiny] that God had revealed to him via dreams.

God speaks to us about the ending, but never about the middle ground. This is because the middle ground is for aligning us to the purpose of God. The problem though is that the middle ground can destroy you and you miss your purpose. Making it through the middle ground of the journey to fulfilling your purpose is dependent on how emotionally mature you are.

Speaking in tongues, prophesying, giftings, etc do not signify spiritual maturity. These are prongs of the Holy Spirit. Emotionally stability is what signifies spiritual maturity. Maturity is when you are able to handle something that is wrong with wisdom without breaking or breaking others.

It is wrong for the Church to only seek to know Christ the Power of God and not Christ the Wisdom of God. Power without the wisdom will destroy you.

But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

 1 Corinthians 1:24 (KJV)

Wisdom cannot be accessed by people who are not emotionally stable.

The devil uses relationships to change you.

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

 Psalm 1:1 (KJV)

Psalm 1:1 highlights levels of relationships.

The relationship(s) that you have with the person/people that you walk with is not as deep as the one that you have with the person/people that you stand with/stand with you, and the relationship that you have with the person/people that you sit with is deeper that the one that you have with the person/people that you stand with, and so on.

You must experience these four levels of relationship on the earth. Who you form each of these connections with is what matters, because relationships matter.

Moses [Exodus 2-3] was brought up in Egypt as an Egyptian but he was not an Egyptian by birth but a Jew. Moses was born to be the deliverer of the children of Israel from Egypt/bondage. But the devil sought to change him [from the deliverer into an Egyptian] thus changing his destiny, but he fought this.

You were born to be one specific thing. You were born to fulfill one specific destiny.

Not every door that opens for you is opened by God. Some doors are opened by the devil.

You’ve got to look into your heart and find out what it is that you need to kill so as to rid yourself of offence lest it change you.

A church that comprises of members who are not healed is the worst church to pastor.

Offences stop you from commitment.

Offences stop you from faithfulness.

Offences stop you from doing the right thing.

Offended people see everything that they are asked to do with an eye of offence.

Offended people cannot have relationships that are pure [without strife].

Fellowship with one another and fellowship with God is in the light.

This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

When you are offended, darkness walks in.

Relationship is broken in the Spirit before it is broken in the physical.

The deterrent to you accessing your next level is your unhealthy condition of your heart.

When man is offended, he forms a battlefield.

We must create an atmosphere for God to bless us. Not a battlefield.

People who are offended will always bring offence to others. This is because whatsoever you equip yourself with in this life is what you shall manifest.

What you package yourself with is what you will manifest in the future. Do not package yourself with offence. Deal with what happened.

A man that is sick inside his heart cannot take correction (rebuke).

The sure test of emotional wholeness is the ability to take rebuke, and rejoice for the rebuke.

Your next level is in the healing of your heart. If you let God heal your heart, you will move into even deeper, higher dimensions of relationship with Him.

The next level of power in INFEMI is in our intense relationships and relationships do not abide where there is offence.

Deal with the things that happened to you because if you do not they will become a sickness to everyone that you’ll meet.

People that carry offence do not want other people to be better than them.

Offence renders you incapable of submitting to anyone.

Offence fights authority.

A man drunk does not see a good thing as being good. This is because a drunk man loses his power of making sound judgment.

The way that you react to what is or was done to you does not talk about the person who did it. It talks about you. This is the only way that you can ascertain whether you have offence or not.

The issue where offence is concerned is not who offended you but what to do about your offence. This is because offences are bound to come. They will and they must come. How equipped are you to handle them?

The issue is not what you go through but whether you know how to handle what you through.

Joseph [Genesis 37 – 50] was sold off into slavery by his brothers. There is no greater offence than someone that you trust selling you out. There is nothing that brings offence like betrayal.

Joseph prospered in the house of Potiphar, in jail and when he came under the direct command of Pharaoh and consequently caused the house of Potiphar, the managing of the jail and Egypt to prosper despite his painful experiences because he refused to carry his ‘yesterday’ into his ‘now’.

What happened to you can destroy your next level of opportunity. Most believers are losing what God wants to give them because they are not able to handle their yesterday.

Instead of carrying what happened, deal with it.

When you are drunk, you cannot see well.

If you do not heal from your offence, it will destroy your destiny. It will cut off your opportunities.

Offended people can never work together towards a common purpose/goal.

It is wrong for one event in your journey to become you. If you are not careful, you will begin to define yourself by what happened to you.

What happened to you does not define who you are. Only you can allow it to define who you are, and if you do you’ll become someone that you are not supposed to be.

It is before God and not man are you offended because only God can see you [your heart].

What you are carrying will spill out into everything that you are and that you have. When it explodes, it will not just destroy other people but everything in your life. Your family, your marriage, your business, your relationships, etc.

What you cannot face and address you can never move from. Close the chapters that need to be closed in your life.

When you get offended, humility jumps out of your heart.

Offended people can never be humble.

Humility is the power and the ability to discern the counsel of God that carries the will of God for you to live within.

Humility is not just the power and the ability to be able to discern, but it is also the ability to accept that will and counsel of God.

Humility is the power and the ability to submit to the counsel and to do as the counsel directs. Humility is not complete until you do what the counsel directs.

Offended people can never be humble. They cannot receive the counsel of God. They always reject it. This is because they focus on the offence rather than the counsel of God.

Offended people cannot do what is right. The offence in their heart cannot let them do so.

The greatest gift that you can bring to any relationship is emotional stability; the right atmosphere. This is because everything else will either stand or fall because of this. 

There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed.

Isaiah 65:20 (KJV)

For you to live long, you must be emotionally sound.

It has been proven that 80% of the diseases in the world come because of emotional imbalance. Only 20% diseases originate in/from something else.

This goes to show that if you are stable emotionally, you will not suffer from 80% of the diseases in the world.

The devil knows that the way to stop you from accessing your next level is to bring offence into your life.

Your next level is in the healing of your heart. Deal with your offence.

Offence is the greatest destruction that destroys the hearts of men.

Are you offended? Deal with it.

God is looking for a womb. This is because the things of God are not received, they are conceived. The wombs of God’s people have been messed up with.

There are three types of people in the house of God:

1. People whose spiritual womb has been torn – every time they want to carry that which is the Lord’s they always abort because there is a leakage.
2. People whose spiritual womb is full of other stuff other than God so much so that the seed of God’s word cannot come in.
3. People who have lost their womb. It must be created once more.

The things that you allow into your life either protect and nurture your spiritual womb, or they destroy it. Those that are not right for you sometimes fill your womb so much so that you cannot receive from God. You repel that which He speaks to you.

For you to be able to respond to what God wants you to respond to, everything must be right within you.

For you to be able to respond to authority, everything must be right within you.

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name.

Philippians 2:5-9 (KJV)

The form that you take is the form that you’ll manifest. You respond to things according to the form that you have taken. A form is not given to you. You take it. Everything that you go through can give you a form and if you take the wrong form that is the form that you shall manifest.

There is a form that when you take it you do not struggle to be humble. But there is a form that when you take it, you’ll only manifest arrogance.

The perception of a man with an offended heart is destroyed. He will always look at the right thing but see it looking wrong.

Perception is what creates mentalities and attitudes, and it is attitudes and mentalities that create actions either for your good or for destruction. So every time that someone has the wrong perception, they’ll have the wrong mentality and the wrong attitude and therefore will trigger the wrong action in their lives. This is why every man in this life will function to the level of their perception.

Your perception is destroyed when you are drunk on offence. There is nothing that is good that you will say is good.

Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.
