Remove not the ancient landmark which your fathers have set up.
Proverbs 22:28 AMPC
A landmark is a moral absolute that God gives us so that we can value and obey.
Moral absolutes are not dependent on our feelings we are to obey them regardless of our feelings.
The law of God comes from him.It is possible for us to invent a value but we cannot invent a law of God.
God's law is not subject to what we like they are ancient landmarks.
God established moral absolutes that we are expected to honor and obey.
God put these landmarks in place for our safety and our own good.
The tree of Good and Evil was out of bounds because God wanted Adam and Eve to have a relationship with him and not by eating the fruit (working).
Truth is only found in a personal relationship with God that is founded on covenant.
The knowledge of Good and evil can only be found in having a relationship with God.
We obey God because we love Him.
The questions we face in regards to who God is as well as our own personal battles can only be sorted out in relationship with Him.
We should love God for who He is and not for what He has done for us.
God desires for us to be in a relationship with Him so that we can understand His truths.
God desires for us to trust Him so that we can understand that the landmarks are there for our own good.
Service stems out relationship and not convenience.
What God says matters a lot because they are the absolute truths in regards to your life.
Your decision to live within the boundaries of God's word matters a lot.
Sin is not weakness. It however reflects our weakness.
The Bible does not refer to sin as depravity. Depravity is a condition and a consequence of sin.
The only way to deal with sin is to not remove the ancient landmarks.
Landmarks describe God's word as sound doctrine and Godly practices.
Every Scripture is God-breathed (given by His inspiration) and profitable for instruction, for reproof and conviction of sin, for correction of error and discipline in obedience, [and] for training in righteousness (in holy living, in conformity to God’s will in thought, purpose, and action),
2 Timothy 3:16 AMPC
Landmarks are there to ensure that there is no confusion.
Landmarks ensure that we are able to identify what belongs to us and what doesn't.
The church is God's holy sanctuary and we cannot migrate secular practices to the church.
For He [Who is the source of their prophesying] is not a God of confusion and disorder but of peace and order. As [is the practice] in all the churches of the saints (God’s people),
1 Corinthians 14:33 AMPC
Change can happen for good or for evil. The only thing that cannot change is God's word.
Not everything the forefathers set for the church is backward. Some of the practices are landmarks and moving them has caused the church to be divided causing confusion and strife.
People want change because they want division. Change must produce the fruit of righteousness.
Thus says the Lord: Stand by the roads and look; and ask for the eternal paths, where the good, old way is; then walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk in it!
Jeremiah 6:16 AMPC
Building a church community that is holistic and healthy can only be based on God's love for one another as well as relationship.
Many people fail to realize that being modern does not equate to being spiritual.
A lot of churches are dead and lack the revelation because of not pursuing a personal relationship with Christ.
2 Herald and preach the Word! Keep your sense of urgency [stand by, be at hand and ready], whether the opportunity seems to be favorable or unfavorable. [Whether it is convenient or inconvenient, whether it is welcome or unwelcome, you as preacher of the Word are to show people in what way their lives are wrong.] And convince them, rebuking and correcting, warning and urging and encouraging them, being unflagging and inexhaustible in patience and teaching.
3 For the time is coming when [people] will not tolerate (endure) sound and wholesome instruction, but, having ears itching [for something pleasing and gratifying], they will gather to themselves one teacher after another to a considerable number, chosen to satisfy their own liking and to foster the errors they hold,
4 And will turn aside from hearing the truth and wander off into myths and man-made fictions.
2 Timothy 4:2-4 AMPC
Grace is not there to cover sin. Grace is there to help us follow spiritual truths so that we don't make falling into sin a habit in our lives.
There are psychological ministers who teach you anything that will make you avoid the truth. The grace of God and His divine power separates us and enables us to live right.
We must consider the spiritual landmarks and truths established for the church.
Whatever the church does must be in line with what is in scripture.
When you depart from the standards established in the Bible, judgement will befall you.
Each and everyone of us has a template to be in line with our identity and how God created us.
People have slackened in the walk of faith. As saints, we must not give way to this tendency. This is a heart issue.
