8 And the four living creatures, individually having six wings, were full of eyes all over and within [underneath their wings]; and day and night they never stop saying, Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty (Omnipotent), Who was and Who is and Who is to come.
9 And whenever the living creatures offer glory and honor and thanksgiving to Him Who sits on the throne, Who lives forever and ever (through the eternities of the eternities),
10 The twenty-four elders ([a]the members of the heavenly Sanhedrin) fall prostrate before Him Who is sitting on the throne, and they worship Him Who lives forever and ever; and they throw down their crowns before the throne, crying out,
11 Worthy are You, our Lord and God, to receive the glory and the honor and dominion, for You created all things; by Your will they were [brought into being] and were created. Revelation 4:8-11 AMPC
The acceptable way of worshipping God is the way that has been instituted by God Himself, and is confined to His will.
God has to teach us how to worship Him on the basis of what has been revealed in His word. Any other way that has not been prescribed by the Holy Scriptures is not acceptable by God. If any form of worship is outside of the teachings of the Holy Word, then it is not worship unto God.
We worship God because;
1. He created us.
2. He deserves it.
Worship is not receiving from God, its giving unto God. Giving Him glory, honour and adoration because worship is the highest form of love.
Worship is not a duty or an errand. It is a lifestyle. Something you do from the depth of your heart.
Worship is responding to your highest joy, your highest blessing, that is God alone.
15 For thus says the high and lofty One—He Who inhabits eternity, Whose name is Holy: I dwell in the high and holy place, but with him also who is of a thoroughly penitent and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble and to revive the heart of the thoroughly penitent [bruised with sorrow for sin]. Isaiah 57:15 AMPC
Worship brings revival in your heart. It rejuvenates your spirit.
Worship is not a means to an end. we do not worship because we want God to bless us. God is our blessing. He is the one who empowers us to succeed in life.
There is no better joy that you can find except in God's presence
Worship is attitudinal its not formal. Formal worship is external. True worship is intimate, spontaneous and experiential. God is a God of experience.
Via true worship, God uses it to usher you into a new, higher reality of Him.
Worship can catapult you to a place you see God in bodily form. Yes, God is spirit but He also has a physical form. Jesus also never ceased to be man when He went to heaven.
Adam and Eve we able to fellowship with God in the cool of the day because they were touching base with the humanity of God in His pristine state.
Human beings were created in the image of Christ, in His human nature. The father has no business with humanity unless it is in Christ.
Formal worship is the outward expression of the inward expression of the soul. Any external worship that is not internal is sin.
You can only be a true worshiper if you worship from your heart. For it to come from your heart you need to have interacted with a level of truth.
God wants that whenever we come before Him, whatever we express externally should be a manifestation of what has already happened on the inside.
Giving is a form of worship. Giving allows the divine to fight for you. Each time you give unto God, you are giving your heart. God looks not at what you've given but unto your heart. Giving is partnering with God in your life.
Giving outside of righteousness and revelation is giving amiss.
God wants us to do everything with a heart of humility. Everything we do outwardly should be an expression of our heart.
You cannot honor God without some form of spiritual worship.
Worship is boasting and celebrating the Lord.
You boast and express about a God that you know and love most. You cannot boast and express about a God that you do not know.
Types of worshippers;
1. Pray earnestly but receive very little - because they do not pray according to the scriptures.
2. Pray with their minds and their hearts, but their spirits are far away.
3. But there are those who come to God and admit that they do not know how to worship God and desire that the Lord teach them how to worship Him.
Worship will be hard for you if you do not abdicate control and power over your life. You need to dethrone yourself from the seat of your heart before you can worship.
You need to come to a place where you let go and let God be the centre of your life. Worship has a lot to do with God being the centre. You cannot live for God if you are the centre of your life.
God wants you to come to a place where you stop clinging to the need of being in control. God wants you to be free and allow Him to express Himself in your life.
You cannot talk about God if all you talk about is yourself.
Worship is not about having the best techniques, It is about the heart. The war of worship is the war of the heart.
It is not what you sing or not sing that matters, the issue is your heart. If the heart is right, you will sing aright.
One of the things that we need to be careful about is having a critical heart.
God is not interested in your opinions, He wants your worship. God does not want your evaluation, He seeks your adoration. God cares for who He is. God demands your full attention and focus.
Saying Amen is not a response to a greeting, It is agreeing with God.
Worship only takes places when God invades our heart and directs our attention towards Him.
Worship only takes place when the Holy Spirit comes upon us with power and enables us to see Him with the eyes our heart, and hear him with the ears of our heart.
When you behold the full majesty of the Lord, everything else ceases to matter.
