Separating The Portions: Sermon By Apostle Mulumbi

Now when all this was finished, all Israel who were present went out to the cities of Judah and broke in pieces the pillars and cut down the Asherim and broke down the high places and the altars throughout all Judah and Benjamin, and in Ephraim and Manasseh, until they had destroyed them all. Then all the people of Israel returned to their cities, every man to his possession. And Hezekiah appointed the divisions of the priests and of the Levites, division by division, each according to his service, the priests and the Levites, for burnt offerings and peace offerings, to minister in the gates of the camp of the LORD and to give thanks and praise. The contribution of the king from his own possessions was for the burnt offerings: the burnt offerings of morning and evening, and the burnt offerings for the Sabbaths, the new moons, and the appointed feasts, as it is written in the Law of the LORD. And he commanded the people who lived in Jerusalem to give the portion due to the priests and the Levites, that they might give themselves to the Law of the LORD.

As soon as the command was spread abroad, the people of Israel gave in abundance the firstfruits of grain, wine, oil, honey, and of all the produce of the field. And they brought in abundantly the tithe of everything. And the people of Israel and Judah who lived in the cities of Judah also brought in the tithe of cattle and sheep, and the tithe of the dedicated things that had been dedicated to the LORD their God, and laid them in heaps. In the third month they began to pile up the heaps, and finished them in the seventh month. When Hezekiah and the princes came and saw the heaps, they blessed the LORD and his people Israel. And Hezekiah questioned the priests and the Levites about the heaps. Azariah the chief priest, who was of the house of Zadok, answered him, “Since they began to bring the contributions into the house of the LORD, we have eaten and had enough and have plenty left, for the LORD has blessed his people, so that we have this large amount left.

2 Chronicles 31:1-10

Every time God wants to move in the lives of people, He instructs an altar.

God begins to flow from the altar. The level of your altar determines the level of the move of God in your life.

When you lose your altar, you lose your blessing and the presence of God

Every time you mess up the tabernacle, you mess up the presence of God

Every time God wants to do something new, He raises a leader that fears him and will do the will of God.

God does not work with out a leader. He raised Hezekiah to build up the temple of God – 2 Chronicles 31:1-10.

Hezekiah instructs the people to cast down and destroy all other altars for the altar of God to be set up. The problem with the Church in Kenya is that there are many altars. Cultural altars that have pervaded the Church. It is a high time we set up the true altar for Jehovah God.

There is a glory you can never receive unless you suffer with Christ. Take up your cross and follow Him.

You need to disengage from cultural principalities. Say no to the worship of idols even those that are being paraded in Church.

When they separated from false altars, Hezekiah put people in order and levels. There are various dimensions: Priests and Levites, singers (outside and inside). There was rank and file.

If you sit under a nature or an anointing, it blesses you. If you sit over it, it curses you.

God blesses you once you stay in your level and rank. Moses was the leader in the wilderness. Joshua was the leader in Canaan. Submit and sit under the grace and nature of the set leader in your life.

Hezekiah commanded that they set apart the portions to God.

And he commanded the people who lived in Jerusalem to give the portion due to the priests and the Levites, that they might give themselves to the Law of the LORD.

2 Chronicles 31:4

Separate the first fruit:

As soon as the command was spread abroad, the people of Israel gave in abundance the firstfruits of grain, wine, oil, honey, and of all the produce of the field. And they brought in abundantly the tithe of everything.

2 Chronicles 31:5

Stop eating Holy things! Do not eat the first fruit of your increase. When the Lord asks for it, it is to bless you and the work of your hands.

Everything in Jericho is holy unto the Lord. It was the first city the Israelites had conquered. It was their first fruit of increase.

Israel has sinned, and they have also transgressed My covenant which I commanded them. For they have even taken some of the accursed things, and have both stolen and deceived; and they have also put it among their own stuff.

Joshua 7:11 (NKJV)

If you touch Jericho, you will die in Jericho. Do not take it to loose the rest of the cities.

Separate the portions. The Lord’s portion should not be in your portion.

Achan touched the stuff and trouble started. They were defeated – Joshua 7.

There is no grace of giving. There is a grace AFTER giving – a grace that causes you to abound in all sufficiency.
