The Secret Place Of The Most High: Part 1 | INFEMI Sermon By Bishop Gobanga

The Secret Place Of The Most High – Part 1: Sermon By Bishop Gobanga

One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple. For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.

Psalm 27:4-5 (KJV)

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.

Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation. There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

Psalm 91 (KJV)

A man’s quest and desire to be able to walk in the manifestation of the Divine is equivalent to the energy that exists in eternity. This energy ensures the world exists in a particular orbit and this energy is in you and works through you.

This energy enables you to manifest what is inside you. Allow what is inside you to find expression through you naturally.

We must all learn to wait on God for inner revelation of truth and oneness with Him.

The light of God we want to receive is not a thing. God is light. If God is to give you anything, He will give you Himself. What He gives you is an extension of His being. E.g. money is an extension of God’s providential care. Life and love are not a thing but attributes of God.

There is a need of the person of God that we have. Unless we have God, we have nothing.

Jesus told the disciples as He was ascending to tarry where they were for power from on high.

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Acts 1:8 (KJV)

Power from on high comes from within you. There is a region within yourself that God wants to activate. It is much more than your present conscious mind.

The highest place within you is within your spirit man. Until you learn how to intercourse with your inner man, you will live a life less than what God has for you.

When the Spirit of God abides and interacts with you, He interacts with your spirit man and imparts truth within your mind (in your spirit man).

To receive any illumination, it will come from the higher region within yourself.

It is important to sit in silence. At the place of waiting in silence, you will hear the still small voice of God. Noise belongs to the outside world.

We must be conscious of the still inner working of God and believe before we see. The problem is we doubt.

They that seek Him will be renewed in their strength. This happens within.

We live in a physical realm but our spirit man is within our bodies therefore we are are spiritual beings.

Your growth and survival in both the natural and spiritual depends on your nourishment. A person who is not spiritually well nourished is as good as dead because decay begins from within.

For My people have committed two evils: they have forsaken Me, the Fountain of living waters, and they have hewn for themselves cisterns, broken cisterns which cannot hold water.

Jeremiah 2:13 (AMP)

Many Christians think they can drink of the presence of God when they are thirsty. God does not want you to come to Him because of what you can get from Him but because of who He is. He wants you to make Him your dwelling place.

Where have you made your dwelling place? Dwelling in God will cause His presence to cover you in times of trouble. God wants you to be aware and conscious of His presence.

So Moses went into the midst of the cloud and went up into the mountain. And Moses was on the mountain forty days and forty nights.

Exodus 24:18 (NKJV)

Psalm 91 was written by Moses when he was in the Secret Place of God in the dark thick clouds. Thick dark clouds are a place of hiding.

The Secret Place of the Most High is a place of rest where you are lifted and the presence of God protects you. Process is without.

When you abide in the Secret place of the Most High – El Elyon (The Ascended One) – you have ascended and the presence of God overshadows you.

Just as the High priest could enter the holy place, God wants us to enter into the place where we are so covered by His glory that nothing can overcome us.

My frame was not hidden from You when I was being formed in secret [and] intricately and curiously wrought [as if embroidered with various colors] in the depths of the earth [a region of darkness and mystery].

Psalm 139:15 (AMP)

Cether is a Hebrew word that means a place of covering, shelter, secrecy and hiding place.

God formed us and protects us in the Secret Place.

And have clothed yourselves with the new [spiritual self], which is [ever in the process of being] renewed and remolded into [fuller and more perfect knowledge upon] knowledge after the image (the likeness) of Him Who created it. Colossians 3:10 (AMP)

God is talking about the inner/spiritual man made afresh as though no other existed. This is why condemnation is not the portion of believers. We should walk as a people who are forgiven.

Adam cannot be compared to Christ (the second Adam). Like the second Adam, as believers from the moment we get saved, we are prototypes.

Who you are defines your assignment, it determines your purpose and the people you should have in your life. It is in the Secret Place where God will show you who you are.

The Divine presence that covers you is upon your life because the presence of God fashions you for His promise over your life.

When we live in the presence of God, we are living and operating from a position of rest in Christ. We can only exercise dominion from the position of His presence.

When you are living outside of the presence of God, you are living as lumps of clay with bubbles of air that God cannot use.

God wants His rhema word to obliterate every bubble of carnality inside of you. It will cause you to be formed which takes time and patience. Faith must work hand in hand with patience.

God wants us to understand that Jesus did what the Father is doing and do the same in our lives.

We will be transfigured when we see the Spirit of God’s word not just the letter. New revelation does not come because you know the Scriptures but you are in line with Scripture.

True revelation comes from the Secret Place. God wants us to come to the place where our hearts are knitted with Him.

Satar is a Hebrew word that means the Secret Place or secret things. Satar has a few root words that will help us understand the Secret Place. These are Samek, Taw and Resh.

Samek is a small, rounded vessel with a flat cover that would keep what is inside from coming out. This small vessel represents the heart of God. We have unlimited access into the heart of God.

Angels cannot dwell in the heart of God yet we can. We can know certain things that angels cannot know. This is why we will judge them.

Do you not know also that we [Christians] are to judge the [very] angels and pronounce opinion between right and wrong [for them]? How much more then [as to] matters pertaining to this world and of this life only!

1 Corinthians 6:3 (AMP)
