The Secret Place Of The Most High – Part 2: Sermon By Bishop Gobanga
One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple. For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.
Psalm 27:4-5 (KJV)
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation. There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

Light and love are not a thing. The light and love we are looking for are God Himself. Truth is not a thing. It is an expression of God.
Anything that is higher than whatever is within you (your heart) is a fallacy and deception.
The highest place is within you and is more than your present conscious mind because God transacts with us internally.
The mind is a battlefield but the heart is an ascended place of rest. It is the centre of your being. It is a place of rest where El Elyon, the Ascended One, dwells.
To the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places, according to the eternal purpose which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord, in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in Him. Therefore I ask that you do not lose heart at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.
For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
Ephesians 3:10-21 (NKJV)
The Lord desires to come into us with all His fullness and divinity.
The endowment God wants us to receives can only come when the Holy Spirit cascades within the centre of our being which is our heart.
Your mind cannot experience the trappings of Divinity unless your heart is aligned to God.
The mind does not have the ability to execute the heart and mind of God. Our soul – the mind, the emotions and the will – is weak. It requires the Holy Spirit for it to align to the will of God.
The heart is the locus of the persona of the human being. We can hear God but not listen to what He is saying. This is why we need to get the realm of second hearing – is the place of listening that transposes you to the place of obedience – as an act of love of truth in faith. This is a transaction that requires the facilitation of the Holy Spirit. The spirit man needs to be fed the right diet for him to be strong.
That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man.
Ephesians 3:16 (KJV)
We live in the spiritual realm and natural realm but it is possible to be spiritually malnourished.
Psalms 1 accurately captures what a healthy spiritual diet comprises.
Blessed (happy, fortunate, prosperous, and enviable) is the man who walks and lives not in the counsel of the ungodly [following their advice, their plans and purposes], nor stands [submissive and inactive] in the path where sinners walk, nor sits down [to relax and rest] where the scornful [and the mockers] gather. But his delight and desire are in the law of the Lord, and on His law (the precepts, the instructions, the teachings of God) he habitually meditates (ponders and studies) by day and by night. And he shall be like a tree firmly planted [and tended] by the streams of water, ready to bring forth its fruit in its season; its leaf also shall not fade or wither; and everything he does shall prosper [and come to maturity].

David is talking about following the spirit of the law of God.
A spiritual man does not consider the vessel the Lord is using to speak. This is also why frustration is a prophetic voice.
So Moses went into the midst of the cloud and went up into the mountain. And Moses was on the mountain forty days and forty nights.
Exodus 24:18 (NKJV)
God wants you to understand that the Secret Place of the Most High is within the dark clouds of His glory. Why? Light cannot express itself unless there is darkness. Because it is that place the Lord’s light with shine through. The glory of God is a composite of light and darkness.
When you are abiding in the Secret Place of the Most High, you are abiding in a place of concealment and sacredness.
The transactions being had therein are holy and concealed in the Lord thereby not influenced by what is going on in the world. The consciousness of the presence of God is borne in the Secret Place. It expresses itself on the inside first before it is manifest externally. It is the secret place that the Lord instructions us.
[The Servant of God says] The Lord God has given Me the tongue of a disciple and of one who is taught, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him who is weary. He wakens Me morning by morning, He wakens My ear to hear as a disciple [as one who is taught].
Isaiah 50:4 (AMPC)
It is the place where the Lord leads you to all truth.
The Secret Place of the Most High is the place of the Ascended One, El Elyon. Ascension is a place of rest because you ascended with God.
The highest place of worship is the heart. It is an altar and a throne for God. This is where God meets you. If the devil can get your heart, he already has all of you. The heart is also a place of rest.
For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth to show Himself strong in behalf of those whose hearts are blameless toward Him. You have done foolishly in this; therefore, from now on you shall have wars.
2 Chronicles 16:9 (AMPC)
It is a place where nothing can separate us from the love of God.
For I am persuaded beyond doubt (am sure) that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities, nor things impending and threatening nor things to come, nor powers, Nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:38-39 (AMP)
For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well. My frame was not hidden from You, when I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them.
Psalms 139:13-16 (NKJV)
God formed us (Psalms 139:13-16) and protects us (Psalms 91) in the Secret Place.
Matters concerning purpose cannot be dealt with outside the place of the Secret Place. It is a place of death to self and hidden in Christ with God. You get an impartation from God.
I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
Galatians 2:20 (NKJV)
The Secret Place of the Most High God is a place where you are dead to self and alive in Christ. This Zoe life (a life that emanates from God) is hidden in God.
For you to understand the transactions of God the Father, ascend into the Secret Place. The voice of the Father is still, small and with finality.
And He said, Go out and stand on the mount before the Lord. And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains and broke in pieces the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake; And after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire [a sound of gentle stillness and] a still, small voice. When Elijah heard the voice, he wrapped his face in his mantle and went out and stood in the entrance of the cave. And behold, there came a voice to him and said, What are you doing here, Elijah?

There are secrets that the Lord reveals in the secret place.
The secret [of the sweet, satisfying companionship] of the Lord have they who fear (revere and worship) Him, and He will show them His covenant and reveal to them its [deep, inner] meaning.
Psalm 25:14 (AMPC)
In the Secret Place, the Lord shows you great and terrible things. The Secret Place is the place where the Lord trades secrets with humanity. Some secrets take maturity to get to know.
Call to Me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things, fenced in and hidden, which you do not know (do not distinguish and recognize, have knowledge of and understand).
Jeremiah 33:3 (AMPC)
God wants us to understand that we are seated with Him in the Secret Place (locked in our hearts), which is the locus of His presence. This is where we intercourse with the mysteries and revelations of God.
Secrets come from the heart not the mind. Can God trust you to share His secrets with you?
Head knowledge gives illumination and information. Heart knowledge transforms you, you are able to know the good, acceptable and perfect will of God.
The Secret Place is a place of guidance especially in times of difficulty. There is progress you make in the place of difficulty when you have interacted with The Divine. It is the place where you learn the heart of God that gives you the heart to apply it in your life. It is the place of impartation of wisdom.
We have a future in God that we must protect.
The Secret Place of the Most High God is a place where we enter for impartation of knowledge that leads to the repairing and transformation of your life. We need transformation in our hearts to be able to determine if something is acceptable or not.
Behold, You desire truth in the inner being; make me therefore to know wisdom in my inmost heart.
Psalm 51:6 (AMPC)
In the Secret Place, the place of ascended rest, is where you are able to apply truth in your life.
We all need to connect with the heart of God. It is this heart that connects and nourishes the whole body such that streams of revelation are the same.
The Secret Place is the place we learn Divine etiquette; how to handle God and divine things as well as how to handle people. The mark of spiritual maturity is mastery of handling the lowly. If you want to the be the greatest, serve people. How you handle people will show how you love the Lord. Be a person that keeps promises you make to people.
The Secret Place is the place of Divine reality and experiences (Ephesians 3:10-21). It is a place where the Lord teaches you when times and season have changed. You move from one realm and location to another because you have heard God.
The greatest power resident in any human is resident in God. This is love (1 Corinthians 13). Nothing happens in the Kingdom of God without love. It is the essence that sustains the universe – the visible and invisible. We can do so much but without love we are clanging cymbals!
Love is what enabled God to give His only begotten Son. It is love that enables one to be a giver. Some instructions to give will break perceptions and selfishness in us.
