A Revelation Of The Tabernacle: Sermon By Rev. Richard Muendo

Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own.

1 Corinthians 6:19 (ESV)

The LORD said to Moses, “Speak to the people of Israel, that they take for me a contribution. From every man whose heart moves him you shall receive the contribution for me. And this is the contribution that you shall receive from them: gold, silver, and bronze, blue and purple and scarlet yarns and fine twined linen, goats’ hair, tanned rams’ skins, goatskins, acacia wood, oil for the lamps, spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense, onyx stones, and stones for setting, for the ephod and for the breastpiece. And let them make me a sanctuary, that I may dwell in their midst. Exactly as I show you concerning the pattern of the tabernacle, and of all its furniture, so you shall make it.

Exodus 25:1-9 (ESV)

Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. And Moses was not able to enter the tent of meeting because the cloud settled on it, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. Throughout all their journeys, whenever the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the people of Israel would set out. But if the cloud was not taken up, then they did not set out till the day that it was taken up. For the cloud of the LORD was on the tabernacle by day, and fire was in it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel throughout all their journeys.

Exodus 40:34-38 (ESV)

To tabernacle is to dwell. God’s intent is to dwell amongst us and within us.

Our bodies and our fellowship is the place where God desired to dwell.

God set forth a pattern, a configuration, to describe exactly how the Tabernacle would be built.

God’s pattern is the wisdom with which an individual hosts and stewards the presence of God. This configuration is the wisdom God set forth for us to host His presence.

We need to move from knowing about God to knowing God.

Without a configuration, as it was in the Old Testament, all you can do is host a visitation. But God’s desire is not to visit but to dwell in and among us.

Your gifts will steward the presence of God but your configuration will lead to habitation and hosting His presence.

When God dwelt among His people, the atmosphere was transformative.

Our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit. You are configured to serve the purposes of God. You are not your own.

Configuration recalibrates you as a vessel to be able to withstand and host God’s continuous supply of His presence.

We need to pray for a daily infilling of the Holy Spirit.

Like surgery, God starts by revealing what He wants you to do. Then He strips you to the bare minimum. Then He cleanses you by His Spirit. After that, He separates you. Then through process and wilderness, He breaks you so you don’t interfere with His process. In that place of death and incapacity, this is where He teaches you. After recovery, God gives you specific instructions on how to steward what He has given you and how to conduct yourself in the land of promise.

We see process as dull and not joyous because we make it about ourselves and not God. In the wilderness, you are able to touch base with certain aspects of God.

When we have our destiny and our purpose as the main goal, we will not sustain the pursuit of God. God is who we should chase. Chasing destiny and purpose without chasing God will cause us to fall short of fulfilling our purpose.

There’s a specific shift and mental upgrade that is needed for you to enter and dwell in the promised land that is different from that of the wilderness.

Habitation requires stewardship and discipline. It requires a move past Sunday experiences.

“Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way to where I am going.”

Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him.” Philip said to him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.” Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own authority, but the Father who dwells in me does his works. Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father is in me, or else believe on account of the works themselves.

“Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father. Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it. “If you love me, you will keep my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you.

“I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. Yet a little while and the world will see me no more, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you. Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.” Judas (not Iscariot) said to him, “Lord, how is it that you will manifest yourself to us, and not to the world?” Jesus answered him, “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.”

John 14:1-23 (ESV)

God wants us to be a kingdom representation on earth. This is how we will exude and radiate the God we serve.

Belief comes as the substance of interacting with God’s word. Faith moves you to be in step with God and ensures your heart is not troubled.

Fear comes into our hearts because we interact with the word of God from the hearing level. You need the word to cut deep into you so you become the temple of the Holy Spirit.

The frequency of the voice of God is prophecy.

God is a Father. He instituted a mantle technology to check on your humility, submission and what you are truly pursuing.

Christ came to fulfill the pattern of the tabernacle. Without the reality of your tabernacle, it is easy to fall back on the wisdom of the world which is works.

Without understanding the source of your existence, it is hard to understand truth.

God wants to restore the doctrine of the resurrection of the dead. It is not the abundance of your faith or your works that raises someone from the dead but the Holy Spirit within you.

Your configuration is the confines where identity is expressed.

Limitation becomes a tool of humility.

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

2 Corinthians 12:9 (ESV)

The reality of being a tabernacle is that when people touch base with you, they touch base with the reality of God.

The reality of the tabernacle comes before the reality of ministry.

Our mandate is to know Christ. God doesn’t need our help in using His name. His name is powerful on its own.

Our gifts in God are sparks but His indwelling presence in us is a consuming fire.

Not knowing God will cause you to go round a mountain.

There is a mandate a minister of God has that does not come from themselves but from the indwelling presence of God.

Your business will not succeed simply by your works but as a result of how much of a tabernacle you are.

If you’re not walking in daily infilling of His Spirit, then you are ignorant of His move.

Salvation first comes to address the spirit of the orphan and to reconcile you back to God.

When you enter a new season, God needs to redesign you.

The seeds of the new season are in constant conflict with forces of the outside realm.
