The Dispensation Of God (Part 6) – The New Man Identity (Part 2): Sermon By Bishop Gobanga
For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us. Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; and that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby…
Ephesians 2:14-16 (KJV)
God wants all nations to be like Himself.
The new man fully exhibits the grandness of God while displaying His character.
The new man is a corporate entity. It is the Church redeemed and transformed by the Holy Spirit.
Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!
2 Corinthians 5:17 (AMP)
According to Ephesians 4 and Colossians 3, we can see that the new man is being created as the new man is transformed daily from the sinful nature through God’s word and power.
God created one man. Adam was a corporate entity.
For just as the body is a unity and yet has many parts, and all the parts, though many, form [only] one body, so it is with Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).
1 Corinthians 12:12 (AMP)
The Church is the corporate Christ.
But even if our Gospel (the glad tidings) also be hidden (obscured and covered up with a veil that hinders the knowledge of God), it is hidden [only] to those who are perishing and obscured [only] to those who are spiritually dying and veiled [only] to those who are lost. For the god of this world has blinded the unbelievers’ minds [that they should not discern the truth], preventing them from seeing the illuminating light of the Gospel of the glory of Christ (the Messiah), Who is the Image and Likeness of God.
For what we preach is not ourselves but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves [merely] as your servants (slaves) for Jesus’ sake. For God Who said, Let light shine out of darkness, has shone in our hearts so as [to beam forth] the Light for the illumination of the knowledge of the majesty and glory of God [as it is manifest in the Person and is revealed] in the face of Jesus Christ (the Messiah). However, we possess this precious treasure [the divine Light of the Gospel] in [frail, human] vessels of earth, that the grandeur and exceeding greatness of the power may be shown to be from God and not from ourselves.
2 Corinthians 4:3-7 (AMP)
The main thing God is interested in is to work Himself into us through the Trinity.
The devil is afraid of the shining of the gospel of the glory of Christ in our hearts as 2 Corinthians 4:6 illustrates.
God must exist in 3 persons (yet be one) to deposit Himself into us.
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty (emancipation from bondage, freedom).
2 Corinthians 3:17 (AMP)
God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are one Spirit because they share the same glory, power and majesty but have different functions that complement each other.
The Church is the Body of Christ. Christ cannot be separated from the Body neither can the Body be separated from Christ.
All believers in Christ are organically united with Him. All believers are constituted with the element of Christ so as to express Christ. Christ is the head and also the body. The head cannot be separated from the body. The body cannot function without the head.
And have clothed yourselves with the new [spiritual self], which is [ever in the process of being] renewed and remolded into [fuller and more perfect knowledge upon] knowledge after the image (the likeness) of Him Who created it. [In this new creation all distinctions vanish.] There is no room for and there can be neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised nor uncircumcised, [nor difference between nations whether alien] barbarians or Scythians [who are the most savage of all], nor slave or free man; but Christ is all and in all [everything and everywhere, to all men, without distinction of person].
Colossians 3:10-11 (AMP)
We may be from different backgrounds, nations, tongues and distinctions but Christ must be all in all.
In the church, there’s no room for the natural person. A true believer is not natural but Christlike.
If we embraced the Lordship of Christ as Kenyans, we would not have post-election violence. We must stop thinking in terms of our ethnicity. As far as God is concerned, every member of the human race is the same.
God’s way of building up the body is organic, not artificial.
In Genesis 2, we see the Tree of Life (God the pre-incarnate Son) which was the epitome of all manner of existence. It symbolized grace. The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil and the Tree of Life symbolize the two races of people: those who follow God and those who don’t.
In the Kingdom of God, there are no quick fixes. There is no artificial way. This is God’s way of life and existence.
If we are going to recover the earth for God, we must do it organically.
Jesus performed many miracles but He did it in seed form. Sowing is organic.
And He said, The kingdom of God is like a man who scatters seed upon the ground, And then continues sleeping and rising night and day while the seed sprouts and grows and increases–he knows not how. The earth produces [acting] by itself–first the blade, then the ear, then the full grain in the ear. But when the grain is ripe and permits, immediately he sends forth [the reapers] and puts in the sickle, because the harvest stands ready.
Mark 4:26-29 (AMP)
God rewards your heart and faithfulness (your motive).
When a seed is sown, it will grow spontaneously. You cannot control it.
God sowed Christ as the seed and foundation of all manner of existence. This seed will become a mountain.
Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.
Daniel 2:35 (KJV)
And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.
Daniel 2:44 (KJV)
What are you sowing? Why do you do what you do?
God’s ordained way is to sow Christ as the seed organically. Talent is good but it must find its place. It must edify the Body of Christ not to glorify self.
I appeal to you therefore, brethren, and beg of you in view of [all] the mercies of God, to make a decisive dedication of your bodies [presenting all your members and faculties] as a living sacrifice, holy (devoted, consecrated) and well pleasing to God, which is your reasonable (rational, intelligent) service and spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you].
Romans 12:1-2 AMP
Many Christians preach the gospel through art but it lacks life.
Only when you are organic will you produce life. Learn to practice and exercise your spirit man. Life is in the spirit, not in your art.
When you are full of the Spirit, you will sow Christ and Him crucified in those you relate with and minister to.
